Henry Touch And Go For PSV

Thierry Henry is only rated as `50:50` for Arsenal`s season-defining game against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday.

Thierry suffered a foot injury during the 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough and hasn`t scored a goal in the month since (although he has only played 3 games since). The extent of the injury wasn`t initially revealed by Arsenal and speculation that Henry had suffered ligament damage began to surface.

He had an injection before the first game against PSV after the Arsenal medical team advised manager Arsene Wenger that he would suffer no reaction. Unfortunately they were wrong and Henry suffered a serious reaction. The skipper now faces a race against time to be fit.

The other concern for Arsenal fans is the news that Henry is now suffering with a back problem as well.

'Thierry is injured - back and foot - and is 50-50 for the PSV game,' said Arsene Wenger on Friday. 'He has a problem with his foot. We injected him at Eindhoven and it made it worse.

'They said there was no danger. It was just like a bad kick and it was to stop the pain so he could get through the game.

'But I feel he's had injury problems the whole season. The fact he played a lot last year - the Champions League Final and the World Cup Final - has contributed maybe."

It's vital he plays. Adebayor is s good striker but his style of play is better suited to the Premiership than the champions League. There's no real goal threat without RvP and Henry.

Maybe we need a goal from the midfield, and i don't mean that great goal by Cesc vs Reading :)
AB_Arsenal
I am with u on that one AB. Cesc needs to score a goal. Against the opposition.

Henry will play. it's just mind games by Le Boss to unsettle Koeman's team..

Good result against a plucky Reading side today! PSV is gonna be tough but I reckon we can scrape through. 3-1 on the night I reckon! Aside from that, as much as I dislike the Mancs and I didn't want to see them beating Liverpool this afternoon, at least we can join the rest of the country (Liverpool fans aside, even though they aren't exactly Chelsea lovers either) in celebrating the downfall of the Premiership buyers. I wonder if the, "not so special one", enjoyed emptying his locker and kissing goodbye to fat Franks 27 chins this afternoon.

Strangely, I wouldnt be devastated if he didnt play. We've looked better without him this season, and its better to play with that team instead of playing with an henry who aint fully fit !! but i hope he gets well soon and is ready for future CL games, which will surely come when we beat PSV !!

wenger made a mistake playing him in the first game, i think he will go with baptista and walcott, i thought they looked good against reading.. henry has had a far from acceptable season, he needs rest, i think arsenal will get through without him.

This is why I never question an athlete (or anyone really) when they say they're injured, which a couple of people seemed to do with Henry when he revealed the foot problem. I doubt he's chosen to miss the last couple games for fun.

PG Walcott isnt ready to start such a crunch game in our season. if Henry doesen't play, Ade will take his place. Ali would also be a better option than Walcott at the moment..
luckys_10
luckys - Ade would have started even with Henry fit. now the problem is, who do you pair with Ade? Ali has been better as an attacking winger than a striker. mebbe the beast along with Ade !!
