'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wenger Calls For Patience

Arsenal must be patient and dynamic in order to beat PSV on Wednesday according to Arsene Wenger.

They frustrated Arsenal in the first leg, playing more like a struggling Bolton than the Dutch Champions.

A goal on the counter-attack by Mendes has cast serious doubts over Arsenal`s chances of qualifying for the quarter final.

With Rosicky defiantly out and major doubts over Henry`s fitness Arsenal will be lacking experience. That experience is vital when you need to come from behind as younger players can often become impatient and try to rush things.

Wenger is aware of this (obviously) and has already delivered a warning to his young team. Speaking after Arsenal`s 2-1 victory over Reading Wenger said: 'They will be cautious, wait for us in their half and try to make us impatient.

'We have to be dynamic and patient together and that will not be very easy. But I believe we can do it.

'The most important thing is that a bad result today would have pushed us a little bit in a crisis confidence wise, but these three points get us in a good position in the league to qualify for the Champions League, and that will help us play under a little less pressure on Wednesday.'

it's gonna be a big test for the young guys, as Arsene's quite correct, about the test we'll face. PSV will pitch up and try to frustate us, make us become frantic, then ragged, then finish us off if they're presented with the opportunity. We must guard against this. »»Arsene Knows««

Ha, our defensive players will hold on.
k_chelski
I'm sure they will K_chelski, you've won 2 titles by 'hanging on' to 1-0's!
simmy8_2000
They have some chelsea blood in them! That's why you lost.
k_chelski
Lol, i'm talking about our players at psv.
k_chelski
Oh you're refering to your partnership with PSV, the one that, if proven, will result in both being punished severly? You do realise that because you both take part in the Champions League that it would be breaking several FA, UEFA and FIFA rules?
simmy8_2000
Simmy - Your lot made a reputation by winning 1-0 - how's it go 1-0 TO THE ARSENAL, 1-0 TO THE ARSENAL..............
merlin
Simmy - substitute PSV for CSKA and you'll get the same response from UEFA - NO CASE TO PROVE!
merlin
Patience will be required although I would prefer 3-0 at half time!
iceman10
Chelsea should be banned from playing on pay-per-view. I mean I paid £1 (I have a season ticket) and I feel utterly robbed! Arsenal built their reputation on 1-0 scorelines but we didnt have the opportunity to pick up any player in world football to enhance our game!
iceman10
Simmy, we're not alowed to loan players to other clubs?????Geez...
k_chelski
which players are you talking about? You paid the fee for Alex but he is registered to PSV (allegedly) if that is true then that alone is breaking the rules. If however, you have a technical partnership then it is illegal because you feature in the same competition.
simmy8_2000
a few brazies.Let's see if FIFA finds anything, if there's no evidence, there's no crime.
k_chelski
Yep let's! There will be an investigation eventually, there will be evidence and Chelsea will more than likely be docked points.
simmy8_2000
they bloody should be, we had thatdaft investigation into our totally above board reputation with beveren, and this isnt drawing much attention ?? Its so obviously dodgy and been set up by daddy roman, you have sent for da costa for next seaon from psv, who nxt ?

Lets hope we can at least take a lead into the second half otherwise i think the youngsters will get impatient and too many holes will open up...though scoring a goal is important not conceding a goal is just as if not more important.
AB_Arsenal
an early goal is what we need to calm the nerves down and bring PSV out of their shelves. i strongly feel Henry will play, and we'll go through to the last eight with a hard fought victory..
luckys_10
its going 2 be dis seaSONS toughest test.... dey r defensive team having a one goal lead .....we will need 2 be at our best..!
HENRY`14
i see an early 2-1 with the dutchmen holding on for dear life, only for TH14 to come off the bench and break their hearts. Final score 3-1
