'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ade: United Want Me!

Adebayor has revealed that both Manchester United and Valencia are interested in securing his services.

It was reported a few weeks ago that Man United had shown an interest in him but it was immediately dismissed by Arsenal fans as media tripe. It would now seem though that the interest in genuine.

Of course, it is possible that he has been misquoted but if the News of The World are to be believed (I know, I know) then the interest is genuine.

Speaking to the newspaper Adebayor said: 'My agent has told me both Manchester United and Valencia are following me.

'But I am not getting carried away with that, even if they're two massive clubs.

'I am doing well at Arsenal, but they have to show me they want to construct something with regard to my new status in the team.'

I know that sounds a little bit alarming but the next quote is very pleasing indeed: 'I would love to extend my contract. I am in the heart of the supporters.'

You most certainly are Ade. You had a rough start to your Arsenal career but I think I speak for all Gooners when I say you have well and truly won us all over. Keep it up big man!

Oh and Fergie, keep your dirty hands and purple nose off our player!

It would be a huge loss to lose Adebayor. He took half a season to settle in but is doing a fantastic job now and I hope we are lucky enough to enjoy many more seasons watching the big man in Red and White!!!

Sounds like a negotiating ploy to me. He'd be a fool to leave Arsenal. But I guess he wants more money.
devvil
So true this sounds like he is trying to get more money out of us...i don't know if he deserves any more yet.
AB_Arsenal
Still think its tripe!

Its a negotiations thing. The interest might be there but he'll stay.
Gunner down spu*s,OZ
he has settled in well, but he needs to start scoring more goals..
luckys_10
Supposedly he's one of the lowest paid players at Arsenal. His pay is approximately 10 times below that of Henry's. o_O Putting that aside, I can't see him leaving.

i think you will find United WERE inetrested in him last summer from the world cup, this story is about 6 months old.

This would be typical Fergie. Wait for a player to develop instead of devolop them yourself then pay over the odds to secure them. Next year their midfield will be Carrick and Hargreaves at a cost of £38 million when if he had taken a chance on both 3 years ago he could have got them both for a combined £10 million.

Could also have saved £11 million if he had purchased Ferdinand 2 years earlier and about £10 million if he had taken a chance on Saha before he had that 1 prolific season with Fulham.

If its true i dnt really like the sound of his quotes, he doesnt seem like he would want to leave us and wht would u got to valencia from arsenal ?? i hope its tripe.
hazzagooner
it's a tripe.

Its agent talk, but if its true he said those exact words, he obviously wants a new contract but why do you need to threaten talking about other clubs. He hasn't exactly 'made it' he still has a lot to prove so I really think he should let football do his talking. You will get the contract you deserve if you keep playing and scoring.

Playing with a 4-4-2 in the CL this season is surely a sign of his new status in the team. and the fans have truly embraced him with open arms this season. if he's not being paid enough, he is entitled to ask for more, i suppose but if this is only a bargaining ploy, then he can surely do better.
prits
he owes us his first CL goal. Hopefully, his first 3 will come against PSV.

you need to keep him, he's a good squad player, henry seems to spend alot of time of the bench this season injured so you need as many strikers as possible
thedunedan
i hope its true, lets cash in on him if we can, he isnt good
