Tottenham Fan Seeks Justice
Emmanuelle Adebayor looks set to be banned from football for the rest of his life after after incidents got out of hand between a Spurs fan and Frank Lampard at White Hart Lane on Monday night.
After Spurs crashed out (unbelievable eh?) of the FA Cup, a Tottenham supporter ran on to the field and swung a punch at Chelsea's Frank Lampard. Fortunately for the midfielder his supply of Ginsters peppered steak pasties had been late this week and had lost sufficient weight to duck the Spurs fan's hay-maker.
Not surprisingly, the FA and Tottenham Hotspur slapped the fan with a life time's banning order for, and I quote 'aiming a punch at Frank Lampard and failure to leave the field of play'.
Now those of you who don't suffer from alzheimer's will remember that Manu Adebayor was issued, and indeed is still serving a 4 match ban for apparently that self same act.
In the FA's second draft of their match report, they claimed Adebayor had been sent off for 'aiming a punch at Frank Lampard' and gained a further one match ban for failing to leave the field of play.
Sound familiar?
Manu now faces a life time ban after the Tottenham fan claimed that it was only fair that the same punishment be issued.
Speaking with Vital Arsenal the Spurs fan said, 'It's not fair that I've been banned for life when Labytraor only gets banned for four matches, that means I got banned for twice as long as he did'
'If he was English it would be ok, but because he's French he should be banned for life.'
'I will campaign for the rest of my life, or until the dole office opens, for justice'

K_chelski, you may write good English but you don't understand it. Your suggestion of an anti immigration mentality is laughably the polar opposite of the truth. Whilst I notice nobody complains that Canada, Australia, USA and NZ, have much tougher restrictions on immigration, like all British people I fully welcome 100% of those who are fleeing persecution or can make an effective contribution and wish to integrate into our country. This would of course mean you being immediately deported back to Brazil, as I am certain your real contribution would be as pathetic as the juvenile and pathetic posts you plague us with. Rocky7, self love and self pity - I'm pretty sure its possible. In this case Chelsea were far wiser than you lot. They immediately admitted the charge of failing to control their players, thus helping to make sure the FA didn't look closer. Arsenal were slower. Yes YOU WERE WRONGED but you made it worse for yourself. If you'd want to get Manu off, you'd have taken your poison with Eboue and Toure and then asked the linesman if in all the hurly burly it could have been mistaken identity and asked him to look at the tape. By calling him a liar he was never going to admit to making a full mistake. But where was your captain? and the professionalism of Manu? He got involved .. he was aggresive in his demeanor .. he failed to leave the pitch? Yes we all get passionate but the captain should have been there immediately, getting him away and if he'd still been red carded then off the pich ASAP. If this had happened, I'm sure the red card would have been overturned. Instead Wenger engaged in a backfiring policy of confrontation v the FA like his players. I note a former player of yours, Bentley was sent off by the same ref at the weekend. He was fouled, yet got sent off for a second handball. But while chasing the game, he immediately made a minimal protest then got off the pitch. I am sure if Rovers appeal, the 2nd yellow will be wiped from the record. You should all be asking where the professionalism is of full internationals like Adebayor

Sir_Harry, you say our captain should have been there to get Adebayor off the pitch after he had been redcarded, but as Toure was captain for the day, and had just been sent off himself, that was not going to be very difficult.

I'm not saying you condone such behaviour sir_harry, just find it strange thats all. And what we are asking is 'where is the competence of the FA' ?? Didnt we hear keane protest vociferously when he didnt think it was handball on the goal-line (not on the pitch, but later)? Atleast keane knew what he got sent off for, Ade didnt. To ask the ref why he was red-carded is unprofessional?

Then K_chelski, you should look up the definition of racism. Having been personally abused, I referred to an Aussie as a convict. As Australia was established as a Penal colony, it is usual for the British-Australians to engage in such banter – they call us POMs (Prisoner of Her Majesty). There is nothing racist at all, and the use of foul and abusive language is probably of greater concern especially as up to that point, it was an intelligent conversation. The completely false and pathetic racism suggestion occurs because I advocate a balance of nationalities in a team. It could be argued that a team containing no English players is racist against the English. The issue of the rancid and disgusting behaviour of that piece of scum from Slough is not the issue. It has been commented in jest that maybe Manu should receive a similar punishment – however the fact that your captain had managed to get himself sent off clearly illustrates the point I made. A ‘professional’ like Tony Adams would have been calming the situation. The problem with a young team is complete immaturity in their conduct. Whilst I always favour the advancement of youth, once this incident had happened, Arsenal just dug a hole for themselves. Yes an injustice did occur, but you have Manu, a national captain and veteran of 32 internationals behaving like a petulant child, and internationals like Baptista and Hleb doing nothing. Passion is great in the game, excessive passion is stupid. And Wenger should know better. Already in trouble with the authorities, they will probably give him a longer ban due to previous, to the detriment of your club. If Jol had behaved like that, I would have called him stupid because as an experienced manager he should know it’s a fight that cannot be won

I think Rocky is totally right... If we had just shut up and behaved (like SirHarry says) we may have escaped additional punishment, but that would have been like ceding to the FA and bowing down before them... Standing up for our beliefs was the only way to turn the screw a bit on an all-powerful (and many-a-time monstrous) institution that refuses to look at and improve itself...We may not achieve immediate 'change' of the FA with our stance, but change is only ever going to be achieved when enough discontent is voiced, so I unequivocally support AW and his slightly OTT statements. (Yes I also feel better now :-) bloody FA)

Err, no Rocky I didn't but I did have the pleasure of clouting a couple of ****s who did - whilst of course Wenger is right to stand his ground and fight his corner, he has allowed emotion to cloud his judgement in how to do this, undoubtledly taking him further from what he's actually looking to achieve. Furthermore the behaviour of the pitch was symptomatic of a lack of leadership in the team which is being additionally demonstrated in some of your more disappointing results.

I had a jerk chicken wrap at lunchtime from the market, rather than an overpriced sandwich from Mark's. Does that mean I'm contributing to the breakdown of the british economy?? Sir_Harry, if all things british are so wonderful, why are we penalised so heavily in this country for driving anywhere (i.e fuel costs), for living anywhere (i.e the housing market/rent) for borrowing money (base rate 5.25%..soon to go to 5.5%) and even for dying (death duty)?? I get close to nothing from the government for being the sole earner in our house to allow my wife to stay at home and look after the kids whilst she would be showered with goods had she been a single mother at 16.

Having lived abroad, it looks picture postcard perfect in places like Aus, NZ, USA and Italy but scratch under the surface each nation has its problems. Very few of us on here have any admiration for the majority of English players, so your argument is flawed from the off. I'd rather have a couple of quality Brazilian players at 4 million quid than 1 average englishman at 12 million.

When I've lived overseas I have found myself following the teams that occasionally include a British player in their ranks because it is a connection with home and because I have no tie to following any particular team - surely you can't support Chelski because of their interesting style of play - you merely support a team because they are successful, so all you deserve is pity - again its not about supporting English over others but all top teams in their own country find it relatively easy to find one or two domestic nationals into their sides. To have all a team full of English players and no other nationals might be considered racist, to have a team full of non English players when you live in a country of 50million is bizarre and maybe racist as well. Now go away pick up a dictionary and get an understanding of the word 'balanced'.

Prits the original point I made was about you lot trying to engage in more selfpitying. I'm bored by this free the Arsenal one rubbish. Manu may have been unfairly identified but he had enough experience not to get involved, he was acting aggressively, he refused to leave the pitch. By whipping it up, Wenger basically has meant you lot will be targetted any more. Rather than blame everyone else maybe Wenger ought to look at the conduct of Eboue and Manu and read the riot act to them. If they hadn't have got themselves in an incident which had nothing to do with them this would be a non event. Or is Kolo Toure so feeble he can't look after himself?
