'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tottenham Fan Seeks Justice

Emmanuelle Adebayor looks set to be banned from football for the rest of his life after after incidents got out of hand between a Spurs fan and Frank Lampard at White Hart Lane on Monday night.

After Spurs crashed out (unbelievable eh?) of the FA Cup, a Tottenham supporter ran on to the field and swung a punch at Chelsea's Frank Lampard. Fortunately for the midfielder his supply of Ginsters peppered steak pasties had been late this week and had lost sufficient weight to duck the Spurs fan's hay-maker.

Not surprisingly, the FA and Tottenham Hotspur slapped the fan with a life time's banning order for, and I quote 'aiming a punch at Frank Lampard and failure to leave the field of play'.

Now those of you who don't suffer from alzheimer's will remember that Manu Adebayor was issued, and indeed is still serving a 4 match ban for apparently that self same act.

In the FA's second draft of their match report, they claimed Adebayor had been sent off for 'aiming a punch at Frank Lampard' and gained a further one match ban for failing to leave the field of play.

Sound familiar?

Manu now faces a life time ban after the Tottenham fan claimed that it was only fair that the same punishment be issued.

Speaking with Vital Arsenal the Spurs fan said, 'It's not fair that I've been banned for life when Labytraor only gets banned for four matches, that means I got banned for twice as long as he did'

'If he was English it would be ok, but because he's French he should be banned for life.'

'I will campaign for the rest of my life, or until the dole office opens, for justice'

sorry, was this an attempt to be funny? More like narcacistic self pitying.
Sir_Harry
Is that even possible SH? Me thinks you've swallowed the dictionary before reading it.
Rocky7
"narcacistic self pitying"...look up "oxymoron" while you're at it. I will be honest, though, and say I've read cleverer/funnier things than this.
Jammathon
spurs fans mouthing about thier english players policy for the England national team. If lampard had been injured in that brawl, with internationals coming up, then how can spurs be deemed good for England?
49ers
F- then Jamma? Well it's been a long day and I'm just home from work. Even as I approach my 30's my reports still read "must try harder" :(
Rocky7
guys, leave sir_harry alone, he's tired , it's been a long day for him, deporting immigrants. And rocky, it's not all bad, o.O , i thought i was funny, not funny "hahaha" , but still funny.
k_chelski
Haha you thought you were funny, k_chelski? I know, I know..typo. Anyways~~ there, there Rocky. It brought a smile to my face as I'm sure it has to all the gooners on this website. Cheers and kudos to you for your effort!
ducksworth
I can understand different people finding different things funny...gah, whatever. I just wish we wouldnt focus on Tottenham so much.
Jammathon
I dont think that was focusing on Tottenham completely, as much the FA knobends was it not? i laughed Rocky dont feel to bad.
Ozi Gooner
K_chelski, you may write good English but you don't understand it. Your suggestion of an anti immigration mentality is laughably the polar opposite of the truth. Whilst I notice nobody complains that Canada, Australia, USA and NZ, have much tougher restrictions on immigration, like all British people I fully welcome 100% of those who are fleeing persecution or can make an effective contribution and wish to integrate into our country. This would of course mean you being immediately deported back to Brazil, as I am certain your real contribution would be as pathetic as the juvenile and pathetic posts you plague us with. Nobody is impressed that you select the richest team with the better recent record to support - you cannot even support your fellow brazilians by following Arsenal
Sir_Harry
Rocky7, self love and self pity - I'm pretty sure its possible. In this case Chelsea were far wiser than you lot. They immediately admitted the charge of failing to control their players, thus helping to make sure the FA didn't look closer. Arsenal were slower. Yes YOU WERE WRONGED but you made it worse for yourself. If you'd want to get Manu off, you'd have taken your poison with Eboue and Toure and then asked the linesman if in all the hurly burly it could have been mistaken identity and asked him to look at the tape. By calling him a liar he was never going to admit to making a full mistake. But where was your captain? and the professionalism of Manu? He got involved .. he was aggresive in his demeanor .. he failed to leave the pitch? Yes we all get passionate but the captain should have been there immediately, getting him away and if he'd still been red carded then off the pich ASAP. If this had happened, I'm sure the red card would have been overturned. Instead Wenger engaged in a backfiring policy of confrontation v the FA like his players. I note a former player of yours, Bentley was sent off by the same ref at the weekend. He was fouled, yet got sent off for a second handball. But while chasing the game, he immediately made a minimal protest then got off the pitch. I am sure if Rovers appeal, the 2nd yellow will be wiped from the record. You should all be asking where the professionalism is of full internationals like Adebayor
Sir_Harry
Sir_Harry, you say our captain should have been there to get Adebayor off the pitch after he had been redcarded, but as Toure was captain for the day, and had just been sent off himself, that was not going to be very difficult.
Arsenal Almere
rocky - I thought that was funny, brought a smile to my face :). Doesnt anyone consdider it even slightly strange that we have sir_harry giving us a sermon on this particular thread which talks of a spurs fan aiming a punch at lamps?? I'm not saying you condone such behaviour sir_harry, just find it strange thats all. And what we are asking is 'where is the competence of the FA' ?? Didnt we hear keane protest vociferously when he didnt think it was handball on the goal-line (not on the pitch, but later)? Atleast keane knew what he got sent off for, Ade didnt. To ask the ref why he was red-carded is unprofessional?
prits
Haven't seen anyone comment on the Chelsea players kicking the Spurs fan when he has being held down. Cowards, the lot of them. Nice to see Ashley Cole being shown up time and again. Can't see him lasting any longer than Maureen at the Bank of Russia.
joelondon
Sir_Harry, get out more. Rocky, gave me a little mirth.
hatespur
Sir_harry, the problem is you can't take a jibe, it has been previously stated(and you didn't reply) that you wrote some things that could be racist. So i am taunting you.Support fellow brazilians?I can't cheer for a team that doesn't have brazilians? So most of these gooners, are wrong supporting arsenal?
k_chelski
"k_chelski did you see the game.....at the ground?if not ***** off."- Sir_harry. And i am the one who writes childish posts.
k_chelski
Rocky, I will be forwarding this piece to The FA, I think it has a lot of points they should look into!
Westl
Lol, cheers West1.
Rocky7
lets face it, the spurs fan got closer to lampard than the rest of the spurs players did all 90 minutes !
PUREGOLD
Yet they moaned when they weren't given many tickets for the Carling Cup. This is exactly why the board, the police and the footballing authorities decided there shouldn't be that many spuds in one place. One of my favourite backgrounds. http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/5439/arsenalvtottenhamnz7.jpg Thierry in front of spud fans after scoring THAT goal!
saisho
Then K_chelski, you should look up the definition of racism. Having been personally abused, I referred to an Aussie as a convict. As Australia was established as a Penal colony, it is usual for the British-Australians to engage in such banter – they call us POMs (Prisoner of Her Majesty). There is nothing racist at all, and the use of foul and abusive language is probably of greater concern especially as up to that point, it was an intelligent conversation. The completely false and pathetic racism suggestion occurs because I advocate a balance of nationalities in a team. It could be argued that a team containing no English players is racist against the English. It has also been noted I have suggested that if MJ was to leave, he should be replaced by Michael Laudrup (Danish). I have also supported Mido (Egyptian), Ziegler (Swiss) and advocated the signings of Annan, Gyan, and Appiah (Ghana) – some racist I am !!! The quote you provided is not racism, it would be offered to anyone, who continually fills other people’s boards, with pathetic comments … the game was pretty even except for a couple of pieces of brilliance .. yet based on your pathetic attempts to bait others I wonder if you even bothered to watch the game.
Sir_Harry
The issue of the rancid and disgusting behaviour of that piece of scum from Slough is not the issue. It has been commented in jest that maybe Manu should receive a similar punishment – however the fact that your captain had managed to get himself sent off clearly illustrates the point I made. A ‘professional’ like Tony Adams would have been calming the situation. The problem with a young team is complete immaturity in their conduct. Whilst I always favour the advancement of youth, once this incident had happened, Arsenal just dug a hole for themselves. Yes an injustice did occur, but you have Manu, a national captain and veteran of 32 internationals behaving like a petulant child, and internationals like Baptista and Hleb doing nothing. Passion is great in the game, excessive passion is stupid. And Wenger should know better. Already in trouble with the authorities, they will probably give him a longer ban due to previous, to the detriment of your club. If Jol had behaved like that, I would have called him stupid because as an experienced manager he should know it’s a fight that cannot be won
Sir_Harry
So just because the fight is nigh on impossible to win it shouldn't be fought? Arsene Wenger believes in something, and he stands up for his beliefs. Anyone who backs away from something they believe is right just because of the consequenses they may face is a coward.
Rocky7
Perhaps if everyone was as balanced and intelligent as you Harry we wouldn't be in the awful predicament we find ourselves in with regard to football conflicts and world peace.
hatespur
The F.A is a draconian establishment of old farts advocating a communist ruling on football and should be abolished immediately. There, I feel so much better now.
hatespur
I think Rocky is totally right... If we had just shut up and behaved (like SirHarry says) we may have escaped additional punishment, but that would have been like ceding to the FA and bowing down before them... Standing up for our beliefs was the only way to turn the screw a bit on an all-powerful (and many-a-time monstrous) institution that refuses to look at and improve itself...We may not achieve immediate 'change' of the FA with our stance, but change is only ever going to be achieved when enough discontent is voiced, so I unequivocally support AW and his slightly OTT statements. (Yes I also feel better now :-) bloody FA)
Andy-bayor
If people didn't stand up to the bullies of the world we'd all be in the *****. I lay money that SH used to get his dinner money stolen!!
Rocky7
Err, no Rocky I didn't but I did have the pleasure of clouting a couple of ****s who did - whilst of course Wenger is right to stand his ground and fight his corner, he has allowed emotion to cloud his judgement in how to do this, undoubtledly taking him further from what he's actually looking to achieve. Furthermore the behaviour of the pitch was symptomatic of a lack of leadership in the team which is being additionally demonstrated in some of your more disappointing results.
Sir_Harry
Sir Harry, no point in crying over spilt milk, whats done is done.. your out of the FA cup, and a tricky UEFA tie against Seville.. i think it better for your lot to keep VERY quiet, or UEFA or Fifa might ban your fans for attending games altogether if they are going to behave like that !
PUREGOLD
Please PUREGOLD don't describe either of those scum as FANS ... it insults any Fan of any team to use such a term.
Sir_Harry
S_H would i be that Aussie you called a convict?
Ozi Gooner
10/10
bootoo
No Ozigooner, it was the bloke calling himself 'Gunner downs Spurs, Oz' - we were having a civilised discussion and he/she felt that because I had a different inoffensive position (I though Wenger had been foolish) that I was therefore a ****bag. I'm happy to engage in intelligent banter with all fans who have a positive contribution to make, but when I get abuse I deliver it back. And yes I am a saddo who has dragged my arse round Aus with the Barmy Army as well - I was routinely called a %^&* POM, you all live in a convict colony - :)
Sir_Harry
Sh convict colony is just showing how classless you lot really are...
PUREGOLD
sir_harry,I didn't even know about that Aussie situation.I'm talking about what you said to me, what you said to LD.I didn't even know that, one more to the list i suppose. Now i need you to enlighten me, you previously stated that you buy products made on the UK , so you can help your fellow workers. You do realize that, with immigrants in your country, there's a huge possibility that they will take some of the british people's job.So even though some of them (british) lose their job, all of them welcome immigrants with open arms? Another thing you confused me, not so while ago, you said i had a bad english, now you're saying i have good english and bad reading. What's next?
k_chelski
k_chelski, you will find Sh backtracking.. i do wonder infact exactly what products are still UK made in this world.. let us look at his home for example.. the towels he dries himself on, NOT UK, the bed he sleeps in and its bedding , NOT UK, his coffee in the morning or Tea, NOT UK.. does he watch TV ? well that won't be UK either.. does he drive a car ? i bet thats not UK. maybe he buys fresh produce as in food ? ok so that " could " be uk.. but lets face it, less and less is made here, so if you are supporting UK products , you will have a tough time to find true british companies.
PUREGOLD
K_chelski, you really are a pathetic wind up merchant – I was responding to a question from Ozi Gooner. Puregold, are you suggesting therefore that all Aussies are classless as they universally abuse the British by calling us Pom’s? Nationalistic name calling like calling Americans Yanks, etc a part and parcel of society. It seems only the English should be ashamed of their nation. It’s not racist. Sony assemble a lot of TVs in South Wales employing people who either are British or have chosen to call Britain their home. I have a Sony TV. I have a Mini, as it was put together in Oxford. As mentioned all immigration is welcomed as it often fills gaps in our society, or if it is to help those fleeing persecution. But eventually everyone accepts it can put an intolerable strain on society. Furthermore, it can damage those societies still described as third world as if we accept the cream of their society, who is left to help their emerging nations actually emerge? K_chelski, you choose to call people racists when you clearly do not understand what it means. Worst still you are the most pathetic type of poster because you don’t contribute anything positive or intellectually stimulating …… you merely seek to wind people up. If you were a season ticket holder at the Bridge that might be ok, but all you do is make it more difficult for real football fans to read interesting contributions.
Sir_Harry
I had a jerk chicken wrap at lunchtime from the market, rather than an overpriced sandwich from Mark's. Does that mean I'm contributing to the breakdown of the british economy?? Sir_Harry, if all things british are so wonderful, why are we penalised so heavily in this country for driving anywhere (i.e fuel costs), for living anywhere (i.e the housing market/rent) for borrowing money (base rate 5.25%..soon to go to 5.5%) and even for dying (death duty)?? I get close to nothing from the government for being the sole earner in our house to allow my wife to stay at home and look after the kids whilst she would be showered with goods had she been a single mother at 16.
hatespur
Hatespur you're totally missing the point - its about a healthy balance not being sat at the extremities. At the problems you have highligted are the same as in any other country. Having lived abroad, it looks picture postcard perfect in places like Aus, NZ, USA and Italy but scratch under the surface each nation has its problems. What I'm saying that advocating a balance doesn't make you a racist.
Sir_Harry
I don't believe that I have ever accused you of being a racist. I also don't believe this country is anything special anymore. A sad indictment, but unfortunately true. Badly run, over priced and apparently oblivious to the perpertual problems that more and more people can see are esculating at an alarming rate.
hatespur
Sir_harry, it's cute to see you dodge my replies. You haven't answered me yet.You said i don't support my fellow brazilians (At arsenal) , by your reasoning that is wrong. So all of these gooners are wrong as well? You didn't answer me that. We've talked about this not so long ago, you didn't reply at all.And sir_harry , immigration doesn't hurt third world countries, first world countries are the ones doing that damage.
k_chelski
Kevin, by that reckoning we'd be wrong not to support English players is what you are saying. Very few of us on here have any admiration for the majority of English players, so your argument is flawed from the off. I'd rather have a couple of quality Brazilian players at 4 million quid than 1 average englishman at 12 million.
hatespur
That is sir_harry's logics, not mine.
k_chelski
K_chelski .. I'm not dodging replying to you .. you're such a dull uninteresting person I have no interest in holding any sort of conversation with you - why did you choose Chelski - is it because you like the colour blue? When I've lived overseas I have found myself following the teams that occasionally include a British player in their ranks because it is a connection with home and because I have no tie to following any particular team - surely you can't support Chelski because of their interesting style of play - you merely support a team because they are successful, so all you deserve is pity - again its not about supporting English over others but all top teams in their own country find it relatively easy to find one or two domestic nationals into their sides. To have all a team full of English players and no other nationals might be considered racist, to have a team full of non English players when you live in a country of 50million is bizarre and maybe racist as well. Now go away pick up a dictionary and get an understanding of the word 'balanced'.
Sir_Harry
k_chelski and sir_harry bore me. They talk the same crap on multiple threads, for the past week or so, contributing nothing to any discussion.
prits
If you have the need to cheer for a team that has british, that's your problem.I choose chelsea way before it was chelski.Chelsea attracted me, gudjohnsen , jimmy floyd, zola. And mourinho is one of the best (if not the best) manager i've ever seen. His tacticals abilities are amazing. We have great players, great goals scored this season. How many chelsea games did you watch this season , sir_harry?
k_chelski
They're just flirting prits.
hatespur
Prits the original point I made was about you lot trying to engage in more selfpitying. I'm bored by this free the Arsenal one rubbish. Manu may have been unfairly identified but he had enough experience not to get involved, he was acting aggressively, he refused to leave the pitch. By whipping it up, Wenger basically has meant you lot will be targetted any more. Rather than blame everyone else maybe Wenger ought to look at the conduct of Eboue and Manu and read the riot act to them. If they hadn't have got themselves in an incident which had nothing to do with them this would be a non event. Or is Kolo Toure so feeble he can't look after himself?
Sir_Harry
Rocky enlightens us with a bit of humour, which most of us Gooners found quite amusing, but you incorporate it as self pity SH. Ask yourself this. Isn't the only reason you're here because you're so distraught that none of us came over to take the p*** out of you lot on vital Spurs after the Chelsea result. So instead you come over here to look for a little bit of loving attention. It must have been heartbreaking for you when you realised that your team aren't even worth taking the pi** out of anymore. And you accuse us lot of engaging in self pity???
flv
nah flv, if you'd come over to our page to gloat, you'd have been reminded that to lose a FA Cup Quarter Final, you actually need to get to the FA Cup Quarter Finals
Sir_Harry
Or to get to a final you have to win a semi-final maybe? Maybe you can add qualification for the FA Cup Q-F to your list of honours. It would sit right up there with your stunning victory in the Peace Cup and your qualification for the Champions Lea................sorry, UEFA CUP.
flv
haha well said flv. SH you're a git, smeg off.
JakeB
Sir_harry, i know what ur original point was, since you've made it several times. Unfortunately I read all posts on all threads. Somehow the topic moves back to unrelated arsenal topics between u and chelski (immigration, racism blah blah), which is really tiring to read after a while. I'm not asking either u or chelski to get lost, but spare a thought for the rest of us. But if u're just flirting like hatespur says, then pls dont let me bother the 2 of you :).
prits
Hatespur is someone who suffer a 5 point reduction in his IQ every time he goes to the toilet if he thinks that
