'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Gilberto Happy To Help

Gilberto Silva has told Arsene Wenger he is more than happy to help the Gunners by playing what ever position necessary.

Bert has spent the last couple of games partnering William Gallas in the centre of defence, a position not alien to the big Brazilian, but not his favorite either.

'It's been hard to adjust because it's been a long time since I played there," he said. "I'm happy to play in midfield rather than in defence but I spoke to Arsène and when he needs me, I'm glad to help.!'

'The situation we are in at the moment, everybody in the squad'

Gilberto also spoke of the need for the Arsenal players to stick together in these difficult times.

'At this time we must stick together, especially after the hard weeks we have had. The last few days for us have been hard and painful.'

i think this may be the future for him especially with his prowess in the air. but i love him at midfield coz he eases the task on cesc.
mish
i dont know if its his future if its just to give Diaby an extended run in midfield but it does seem odd that neither Djourou or Senderos have been put there

Did anyone read that crap on Channel 4 news saying that "The 20-year-old Fabregas is reportedly ready to end his adventure with the Premiership club and the player’s agent has been contacted by several major European sides, including Inter."

*********!!! of the highest order!

I think Djourou is injured and Senderos is low on confidence.

i wouldnt be too suprised to see cesc sold for a record breaking transfer fee in the summer - with all these idiot fans saying 'sack wenger' and 'sell henry' im suprised more arent asking for a return to the old days and having diaby (vieira clone) play along side gilberto in midfield (note: im not for selling henry or sacking wenger incase that wasnt clear)
bootoo
this article was saying 20mil pounds, thats not likely. the other thing is his already talking about next season, you normally dont hear players who are ready/considering leaving do that (eg; Henry last season)

Gilberto makes the right noises all the time. I love the man's commitment, one of those quiet but efficient players, and very under-rated. I dont like him in that position, coz he offers us more in the middle of the park. Hope this is only a stop gap arrangement till Clichy and Eboue get back.

OziG - that is utter crap !! To be ignored, and not worth debating.

dont belive all da crap u hear ...!!! fabregas will 100`/. be wearing red n white next year !!
HENRY`14
Now only if that flamini character would follow gilberto's example & play FB when we have injuries we'd be fine.

He has done a fantastic job and is so valuable to this young Arsenal side! Even when King Henry is playing he is always a captain to me!
