Alexis Offered Premier League Record £300k?

Alexis Offered Premier League Record £300k?

Arsenal are ready to break the wage structure and make Alexis Sanchez the highest paid Premier League footballer EVER should he accept the clubs final offer to keep him.

Hot off the heels of a deal with Manchester City reportedly being 'close' Arsenal have made, as some call it, one last 'desperate bid' to keep him at the Emirates Stadium by offering him a staggering £300,000 a week deal, according to the Standard.

How much?!

This would more than double Alexis' current earnings, a paltry £130,000 a week - Arsenal's wage structure would be blown to pieces, when it's always been maintained this wouldn't happen for the Chilean or anyone else.

Should these rumours have any basis, and a deal is signed, Alexis would find himself as the league's biggest earner - ahead of Manchester United's Paul Pogba, who has proven to be 'money well spent' and worth 'every penny' of his apparent £290,000 a week deal... I was being sarcastic, if that wasn't picked up?

Despite this apparent mammoth offer, some would call it 'offensive', to Alexis, 28, it was further reported Arsenal remain braced for bids from Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Man City - he'll be sold for £50m if he doesn't accept.

Mesut Ozil is also in-line for a deal of a similar amount, according to this Standard report. Well, they say if you pay the best you'll get the best - but, let's face it, Alexis, and Ozil for that matter, for large periods of this season haven't been playing as if they want to be at Arsenal.

It'll be a sad state of affairs, and another turn for the worse at Arsenal, if a weekly wage of £300k is needed to motivate Alexis and/or Ozil into action... The cynics amoung us would say motivate them, until the next time things aren't going well.
