Pre Doncaster Team News

Manager Arsene Wenger has been holding his pre game press conference ahead of the EFL Cup third round tie against Doncaster Rovers tomorrow, and here's a team news update.

I actually thought Wenger wasn't holding one for this one and would instead speak after the game, but in any event, here's what the Official Site are carrying this afternoon - maybe it was more an inhouse thing rather than anything more?

Beginning with an update on Danny Welbeck following the groin injury he picked up in the game against Chelsea, Wenger said that we were still awaiting details on how bad the injury was, but it looked increasingly like he wouldn't be available for contention prior to the end of the next international break.

'Danny has a scan today, we don`t know how bad his groin injury is but he will certainly be out until the international break. Coquelin as well. Debuchy is coming back slowly.'

Pressed on how slowly Debuchy was coming back, Wenger confirmed he would not be involved against Doncaster but didn't offer anymore than that.

As for Mesut Ozil, he is back in training but again Doncaster comes too soon for him and he won't be rushed.

'Mesut is training again, but for tomorrow no. He has a little inflammation of his knee.'

Calum Chambers will however come back into the matchday squad, as will Jack Wilshere.

'Yes, he will be involved against Doncaster. Jack Wilshere is involved too.'

Wenger also confirmed it would very much be a mixed squad, very similar to the squad he picked for the Cologne tie.

'Yes, but it will be a similar team to the one that played against Cologne.'
