Instant Reactions - Arsenal v Tottenham (18/11/17)

Following today's clash between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, here are the instant reactions from both managers.

Arsenal hosted Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium for a 12.30pm kick off on Saturday November 18, with Arsenal taking a two nil victory on the night with goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez.

Cech, Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal, Bellerin, Ramsey, Xhaka, Kolasinac, Ozil (Iwobi 84), Sanchez, Lacazette (Coquelin 73).

Mertesacker, Wilshere, Ospina, Welbeck, Maitland-Niles.

Lloris, Sanchez, Dier, Vertonghen, Trippier, Sissoko, Dembele (Winks 62), Davies, Eriksen, Alli (Son Heung-min 75), Kane (Llorente 75).

Vorm, Foyth, Aurier, Walker-Peters.

Speaking to the BBC's cameras a short time after match day referee Mike Dean blew the final whistle, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger explained.

'I am very proud of the performance of my team. We played with purpose, desire and urgency and looked dangerous with a great solidarity. Mustafi was outstanding, the back three were outstanding. We threw our bodies in front of shots and were good on crosses. It was a terrific performance from Ozil - he has shown he is not only a great football player but can work and play for the team. He worked hard defensively. All the front three were very good. It is difficult to single one individual out. We are very tight in the table. People want always to go quickly to different conclusions. Let us take the positives and transfer it to the next one.'

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino in his comparitive interview explained.

'It was an even game in terms of shots on target, off target, possession. I am only disappointed because the effort was massive from the team. It is obvious you saw what happened in the game and the small details were against us, it makes it difficult to win. I am very proud with the effort.'

For the stattos amongst us, Arsenal have now won eleven home Premier League games on the trot, a run only bettered since they won 13 consecutive games at Highbury back between February and November 2005.

Pochettino has now lost four of his last six trips to London as Tottenham boss, as many as he had lost in his previous 18 trips.

Could Arsenal Star Have Signed A Pre-Contract With AC Milan?

I'm certainly not saying that's the case, but with Jack Wilshere's contract at Arsenal still sitting on the table, it's a strange set of quotes from AC Milan's Gennaro Gattuso.
