Van Persie Out For The Season

Robin Van Persie is unlikely to feature for Arsenal again this season.

It comes as a blow to Arsenal after it was thought that he could return in the next 3-4 weeks to help The Gunners battle for third spot in the Premiership.

Arsene Wenger has now decided not to risk the Dutchman, and will save him for next season instead.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal's crunch match with Liverpool Wenger said: "The end of April now looks optimistic. It is likely he will be out for the season.

"We have spoken to the doctors and they told us that the longer you keep this kind of fracture without playing the less chance you have of a recurrence.

'So if he can play only one or two games then we will not take a gamble."

We wish you a speedy recovery, Robin.

if he can only make it back for 1 or 2 games, I'm completely with arsene, and keep him back from playing, allow him to recuperate fully, and we'll see the further developed rvp at the start of next season. »»Arsene Knows««

I think the match against Liverpool will have a big say in weather or not he plays again this season, if we win the we're 4 points clear with a game in hand, if we lose then we're 2 points behind with a game in hand, There wont be much need for him if we can win this game and our game in hand, where as if we lose then it's going to be close and we may need him.
