Cesc Is Taylor Made For Award

PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor says that Cesc Fabregas is poised to be nominated for the Player of the year award for many years to come after the young Spaniard was nominated for both player, and young player of the year award.

The FA bigwig could not speak highly enough about Cesc, and even speculated that out of all his young protege's, Fabregas is the one of whom Wenger should be most proud.

Taylor said: 'I would think that, of all the young talent Arsene Wenger has helped develop, he would be most pleased with the emergence of Cesc Fabregas.

'I would expect the young Spaniard to be a contender for our top award for many years to come.'

'He has been a marvellous player for Arsenal who, when they are in full flow, are wonderful to watch; with Fabregas usually at the heart of every move.'

'He is the one who makes them tick and, to see him so composed in the midfield action area, you would think that there is a much older head on those young shoulders because he has such remarkable vision and perception of what is going on around him.'

'Fabregas is going to be a player for all seasons if he keeps going the way he is.'

Long may it continue....

No doubt he will be nominate in future and will win also, but I'm not sure abt his nomination for the current year awards.

The boy should get best young player, I hate to say this we aint had the best player this year.
gunnerb
No chance of winning it this year, but to be nominated for both is more than a step in the right direction.
Rocky7
Well I'm of the belief that the same player shouldnt be able to win both awards, so Drogba should win the senior and Ronaldo the junior.I also believe Berbatov should have been nominated over Gerrard, Giggs & Scholes.
Rocky7
I just realised, no Terry or Lampard, shock horror, what is the world coming to?!?!?!
Rocky7
Berbatov should defo have been in with a shout, also maybe Dawson for young player (if young enough)
Jacky B
but to be honest there is no point in the nominations as there is no need to look beyond Ronaldo and Drogba

dawson ? with spuddies defensive record ? jacky bit early for you to be drinkiing innit ?
PUREGOLD
I thought dawson was one of 5 defenders (including the goalie) so to blame him for our lack of clean sheets is a little silly

A very positive sign for Cesc, but I have to say I've never taken these seriously. As has been said Berbatov has to be in there, and I was chatting with my mates on Saturday and we were saying if you were talking about Arsenal's player of the season, it's definitely a case of who comes second to Gilberto. No one else is even in the running other than Gilbo if you ask me (then again, he's about the only player who's been fit all season!)

Clichy has my vote for player of the season. We should have sold Cole years ago and used the cash in some other area. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Jacky - I dont think PG is blaming Dawson for ur defensive frailties, but with ur defensive record being as it is, it would have been surprising if any of the 5 had been nominated, and thats a fair point.

Its a close run thing between Cesc and Gilberto for our player of the season IMO. Cesc has controlled the mid-field quite well this season and is the architect for a lot of our creative moves. Having said that, Gilberto has been immense for us. Personally I would still go with Cesc, but only by a whisker.

Dawson = one of the best young defenders, therefore..... could be in with a shout, regardless of our defensive record.

Noted :)

Berbatov has done well but 9 premiership goals for a forward is never going to get you nominated, Henry and Van Persie have more prem goals. Essien is the glaring ommission.I expect Ronaldo should win it and he will probably win world player when that is announced next season.

I agree with Iceman about the berbatov goals, but with the amount of games played, he has had to spread them out. More next year methinks
Jacky B
I agree Jacky (Sadly)
