Hoyte Commits Future To Arsenal

Justin Hoyte has followed Jens Lehmann and signed a new deal with Arsenal.

This season has been a great one for Hoyte. He spent last season on loan at Sunderland as they were relegated from the Premiership.

There was some major doubt over his future at the start of the season with both Lauren and Manu Eboue ahead of him in the pecking order. At the same time fellow young right-back Kerrea Gilbert hot on his heals in terms of progress.

The departure of Lauren to Portsmouth and likely departure of Gilbert to Cardiff in the summer means that Hoyte is now Arsenal second choice right back.

At only 22 he has time on his side and I wouldn't bet against the youngster becoming Arsenal's first choice at right-back next season, espically if he continues his excellent progress.

Speaking to Arsenal.com Hoyte said: "Yes I have signed a new contract which is good for me and hopefully good for the Club.

"Now I have to keep working hard, even harder than this year. I have to keep pushing myself.

"I've played a lot of games which has been really, really good for me. I'm just loving playing, obviously being an Arsenal supporter too it's great.

'Hopefully now I've played a lot of games and I can push on now and play as many games, get games under my belt and win trophies with the Club.'

I for one am delighted that Hoyte has signed on. If he can continue to progress in the mannor he has in the last 2 seasons then it'll not be long till the Neville sister is looking over his shoulder.

well dome to Justin - he's come on in leaps and bounds this season... »»Arsene Knows««

I like his attitude. So unlike the spoiled tw*ts that play for England and can't even score against Cyprus and Macedonia. Well done Justin.
G4L
I`m not yet convinced totally by him, he is only young though and in the few games he has played well he was affective. He should be the long term replacement for Eboue, who, if continues to act the ***** will be on his way.
gunnerb
Well he's one of our true Gooners, rate him and in the furture he will get better too, and be loyal, unike sum guy whom's main concern is his bank..
gunner-minesh
Few games Gunnerb? He's played 36 games this year!
simmy8_2000
Best of luck to our Justin who has put a star turn in this season... and yes, his attitude is spot on! He's destined to end up helping England out if he gets more exposure over the next couple of seasons.

I like Hoyte. He is a good player and a good guy.

he aint better than richards but better than G Nev.

noooooooooooooooooooooo

I would much rather see Hoyte than Eboue in the RB position next season. Eboue has a few nice crosses up his sleeve from time to time, but I feel he's woefully inadequate as a defender.
statesidegooner
In honest I feel Eboue is more effective in the Arsenal problem. He just needs to get his attitude sorted out. Eboue is talented, Hoyte works dam hard. Both are needed for diffrent types of games I feel, Hoyte more the gritty games that will get rought and dirty.
Gunners
i a, very pleased to see this happen, he is one player that i believe this year has really improved in a big way this term, and i hope he continues this next season, well done justin !

cant be right, must be a mistake?? an english player signed a new deal?,whats he the boot cleaner?
springy
Spring how original. No one has ever made refence to Arsenal having no english players in the squad and showed shock to those that make the team. I am really impressed with that joke, seriously you outdid your self. Move out the way Captain Obvious because here comes Captain ''Creativity'' with his fresh line of jokes.
Gunners
Gunners, as the saying goes - one swallow does not a spring make. And from the sounds of him, springy is a regular 'swallower'... »»Arsene Knows««

The majority of Arsenal fans, including myself, ain't English anyway Spring, so why don't you just go and take your sh**** jokes and share them with people who actually give a f***. Anyway, f***wits aside, I'm glad Hoyte signed a new contract because he's a cracking player.

Justin as a good young player with more to come, but still rate young Eboue who with just a little less prima donna will be a great player for us. Just curious flv where do you get the idea that the majority of Arsenal fans are non English?
alwaysgunner
another shrewd one by le boss...will work out well.......
ernshaw
Great RB and will over take Ebue position somedays in the near future. just needs to improve his crossing and he is good in defending infact very good.
afghenry
His bro is supposed to be pretty good aswell. Thats true competition for hoyte in 2 years!
Goofle
Hes also a stand in left back. Not got the pace of eboue and clichy so dont htink well ever see him running the wings like them but still well worth keeping.
MeetTheGunners
He may not have the pace of our first choice full backs but he still does pretty well getting foward. He didn't at the start of the season but it's something he has clearly worked on through the season. Full credit to him.
simmy8_2000
alwaysgunner, Arsenal have a worldwide fan base of 27million of which only 5-6million are English.
