Arsenal To Host Mini-League

Arsenal will host a 4-way tournament this summer at Ashburton Grove, featuring 4 of Europe's elite.

Rumours surfaced a few days ago that Arsenal would hold a Nike-sponsored tournament but it's Arsenal chief sponsor, Emirates, who will sponsor it.

Joining Arsenal will be Italian Champions Inter Milan, German Giants Hamburg SV and French outfit Paris Saint-Germain.

The tournament will only last 2 days, but 2 games will be played on each day. It will take place on Saturday 28th July and Sunday 29th July.

The format will be similar to that of the Amsterdam tournament in which Arsenal usually take part. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 1 point for every goal scored.

Tickets will go on sale on the following dates: Gold Members from Wednesday 2nd May, Silver Members from Wednesday 9th May and Red Members from Tuesday 15th May.

Tickets prices start at £25 for adults and £15 for Children and OAPs.

Speaking after the announcement MD Keith Edelman said: We are absolutely delighted to be hosting this high profile pre-season tournament featuring four of Europe`s most famous clubs.

'Following our success in staging two international friendlies for the Brazil national team this season, we are proud that Emirates Stadium is able to stage an event of this magnitude.

The Emirates Cup will not only give thousands of fans an early opportunity to experience some high quality football at Emirates Stadium, but will also provide all the teams with a very competitive level of pre-season preparation ahead of the 2007/08 season."

I might take a couple of car loads of kids to that. We all should put word around so people who are less fortunate enough to watch Arsenal during the season can go.

Will be a good warm up before the season starts with great teams and player speacially Inter with loads of great players and our PV4 will be back!

I would also like to point out that the ticket price includes both games on the particular day. It will also be nice to play a preseason game or two on home soil for a change.

F*** yeah Simmy! If we get tickets then nobody is going to get a minutes peace between the 1st and last minute! Don't know if you went to see the 3-1 Community Shield win against Man U, but that was the last time us lot got to see a game and f*** my hairy thing shaped things, we blew our section apart in the Millenium Stadium!
