Baptista On His Way Home?

Real Madrid's mouthpiece, 'Marca' are reporting that the Beast will not be offered a contract at Ashburton Grove.

Marca, more famous for their stories linking players to the Bernabeau than anything else, claim Baptista has failed in his efforts to become a permanent fixture for The Arsenal.

After hearing comments from Gooners all over the world the camp is decidedly split on the Beast, but I had thought he may come good, however that opinion now looks irrelevant as Julio seems to be on his way out.

he's better off where he can use his creativity probably in spain...100%for effort and attitude though and he lifted our spirits when he was signed.

Ciao Beastie, cheers for bumbling in the two at tight fart pain, and taking us to the grove on level terms in the cc, that and 4 at anfield, his two main contributions.
nikolaijns
if this is true, it's a bit of a pity, you get them impression he could come good. But he's just not shown enough - he's tried, and never let his head go down at any point, a few more displays of promise and he'd have stayed... »»Arsene Knows««

someone please fix Gilberto's name on the poll.
G4L
Good luck on your travels beast. Whatever anyone thinks you will live long in the memory for good and bad!
iceman10
haha didn't notice that G4L....anyway good to see him go.

Like reyes another player with so much potential that just never fitted with the team. Surely the worst first touch in the premiership, we dont need him here next year. Thanks for the CC run beast.
Chris Norfield
Bye Bye!
Goofle
adios, thanks for helping us settle into the grove!!
ajwb
I really enjoyed chanting "BEEEEAAASSSSTTTTT" at the Grove, also scored some good goals (scoring against Spurs means he's a hero) it could have been so beautiful. Take care beast!
Rocky7
i really like the guy but no matter how i look at it he wont settle and be a real threat in england. I hope he goes to play in a good club in spain and score alot of goals, i think he is capable of it. Now arsene GET TEVEZ IN !!!!
hazzagooner
And I bet he can't wait to go :-)

After reading a recent interview from Baptista I hope he signs. What he said sounds pretty reasonable. He said he likes it in london (debunking false interviews) and that he wants to adapt. People forget that he hasn't even picked up the language yet ( something he stated) and that he has moved from Seville-Real mardrid- Arsenal ( premiership) in the space of 2 years. At real madrid he wasn't getting regular football, then he has moved to a whole new game in the premiership. I want to see him ajust to the premiership and reach his old form. Personally I feel he should be given a chance. People say he has had a chance but he hasn't you can't expect all players to adapt to a new league in one season when they only have limited languages whilst they don't know the language.
Gunners
I agree with you Gunners as I always held out hope for him... the only doubt I have ever had about signing Baps is that perhaps we could get someone more established in the Prem instead of him (e.g. tevez or even anelka as Wingston suggested). I think "La Marca" wouldnt call it unless they knew something, so I looks like its been decided.
Andy-bayor
its a shame if he does go,just so he could stay that year so i could say "i told you so" to all my fellow doubters when he came good,if he goes we will never know
fran merida
we know he is *****!
Goofle
gunners ,what baptista cant speak french???
springy
You have a point gunners, and I was also one of the optimistic ones, even as late as 2months back. But he got a decent run, and though I didnt expect him to score many goals, he didnt show wenger that he could adapt given time. He was committed, and his attitude was very good, but that cant be good enough to sign him. Best of luck to him though.
prits
You tried your best and you gave it yo best shot but could not do more so go well Beast
