Congratulations Arsenal Ladies

A hearty congratulations to Vic Akers all conquering Arsenal Ladies' side. They beat a dogged Charlton side 4-1 at the City Ground today to win the Ladies' F.A Cup. Charlton took the lead inside two minutes, but the girls showed iron resolve. Two quickfire goals, a curling Kelly Smith free kick equalising, before Jayne Ludlow's deflected tap in gave Arsenal the advantage. Ludlow hit a brilliant volley from twenty yards right on half time to make it 3-1. Kelly Smith completed the scoring to make it 4-1. This means the Arsenal Ladies are not only European Champions', but League Cup winners', F.A Cup winners' and Premier league Champions'. With two games remaining in the league, the Ladies are currently protecting a 100% winning streak. It simply does not get any more emphatic than that. Vic Akers simply must be in line for an MBE for his unstinting service to the womens' game. As I said earlier, a football club is an all encompassing entity. I won't lie for the sake of political correctness, I'd rather the mens' side were celebrating one of those trophies today. But ours is a club that invests in all cultures, all communities, all ages and all genders and their success is a great filip for our club. Congratulations to Vic and the girls.LD.

Congrats! Well done the ladies, the coaches and all the staff for this spectacular achievement.

Arsenal ladies have got some pretty good players, I liked the Right back and of course Rachel Yankee is well known. One thing tho......Why are women goalies so crap?! The Arseanl goalie had nothing to do so I cant really judge her but the Charlton Goalie was horrendous much like most women goalies ive seen.

Rocky, that hadn't escaped my attention either, unfortunately my eagle eyed accomplice noticed a wedding ring on Sunday. I was looking elsewhere in truth.

Amazing feat; looking at the Women's PL table (see below) ladies had only let in 8 goals tis season and had score amazing 110 in 20 games that is 5.5 per game. Even half of that average in Men would give us title next year.
