Wenger: Adebayor Could Sign Today

Arsene Wenger could open the Arsenal Cheque book once again, after he comfirmed the signing of Emanuel Adebayor could be completed by the end of today.

The 21 year old striker, currently on duty at the African Cup of Nations, could sign from Monaco in the next few hours.

Wenger said. “We are looking at a striker called Adebayor,” said the manager at today’s press conference. “I think it could happen later today.

'He has qualities that we don’t have in the side. He is tall, good in the air and makes good runs. He is a bit of a Kanu type but he goes in more behind the defenders.

“There is good chance it will happen today. If something happens we will let you know.”
