Birmingham Confirm Muamba Capture

Birmingham City have confirmed that they have signed Fabrice Muamba on a permant deal.

The England Under-19 captain has spent this seson on loan at promoted Birmingham, making 41 apperances for the blues.

The powerful midfielder has made his presence felt in the Championship this season. I think it's fair to say that Brum wouldn't be where they are without him.

The fee was undisclosed but is thought to be in the region of £4Million.

Speaking to Birmingham's official website Birmingham Manager Steve Bruce had this to say: 'This is a great signing for us and I'm absolutely delighted that Fabrice has agreed to join us.

'When he first arrived here I said he would be a big, big player for us and a crowd favourite and as the season went on that was exactly what he proved to be.

'He has got the attitude and the athleticism to play in the Premiership and I think he will only get better.'

Fabrice is not getting ahead of himself and just wants to focus on keeping his new team in the Premiership: 'I want to play as many games as I can next season and improve as a player and for Blues to stay up in the Premier League.'

I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing Fabrice all the best at Birmingham.
