Bye Bye Beast - Baptista Leaves

Julio 'The Beast' Baptista has confirmed he will be returning to Madrid after he was told the Gunners could not buy him.

Bappers had been a long term target for Wenger but once he arrived he never really lived up to expectation.

Real's refusal to sign Reyes meant the Madrid giants wanted a cool €20m, which is just not cricket.

The Beast revealed, 'Arsenal have told me they are not able to buy me and so all I can do is return to Real Madrid'

'I have enjoyed my season with Arsenal and in England. I adapted well. I didn't play much at first but finished much better. The first year is very difficult,' Baptista said.

'The English league is very strong and very competitive with great teams. Manchester United and Chelsea are very strong and it is difficult to compete against their great squads.'

Whilst he never really set the Premiership alight, he did provide some pretty cool memories. 4 goals at Anfield as Arsenal became the first club to score 6 goals there in 85 million years & and his brace at White Hart Lane, providing us Gooners with the chance to sing '2-0 and you f***ed it up'

Thanks Beast, and good luck.
