Gunners' Striker Set For Exit?

Skysports.com reports that Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere is close to agreeing a deal with Middlesbrough.

Aliadiere has had a frustrating career at Arsenal, as he has been seriously hindered by injuries.

He was spotted by Arsene Wenger as a 15-year-old playing at a French youth academy, and quickly snapped up by Le Gaffer.

He has now spent 8 years at Arsenal, and every time he has got close to the first team, he suffers a serious injury.

Wenger was eventually forced to sign another hot prospect to replace the injury-prone Aliadiere, in the form of Robin Van Persie.

The flying Dutchman has since gone on to do what Jez failed to do - establish himself as a key member of the first team.

'Boro showed an interest in the Under-21 international back in January, but injuries to key players meant that Arsene Wenger needed the pacey striker, and nothing came of it.

Other premiership clubs, as well as La Liga clubs have recently shown an interest in Aliadiere, 24, and 'Boro have been forced to rush a move for him.

Back in January the fee was reported to be in the region of £3Million.

We'll bring you more news if & when it comes.
