Babel? Myles Says No, We Say Yes

Rumours of the arrival of Ryan Babel are gathering pace, and speculation from blogs and websites has increased as to whether or not Babel is the right player for our club. I say he is.

Is this based on my extraordinary footballing knowledge? Because I am a tactical genius? or simply because I know a good player when I see one?

No.

It's because Arsenal News Reviewer, Myles Palmer says he isn't good enough.

After watching Babel for one game in the under 21's championships Palmer said

'Is Babel worth £6 million at today's prices?

Maybe.

Would he be as good as Overmars or Ljungberg?

No.

Would I be excited if he arrived at Arsenal?

Not really. But Arsene would improve Babel. How much he would improve him, and how quickly, nobody knows. not even the miracle-worker himself.

On last night's evidence, I'd sign Drenthe, not Babel.'

Now, my layabout friend with too much time on his hands (See the 'Arsenal TV' thread) directed me to and old match report from Palmer's Arsenal News Review website where he reviewed a match between Newcastle & the Gunners in which Myles gave his view on a certain Thierry Henry.

Palmer's pearls of wisdom; 'Thierry Henry may turn out to be a £10 million winger, but he is a £500,000 centre forward. Henry is not a David Trezeguet and never will be. '

So, with that in mind I urge Arsene Wenger to go out immediately and make sure this player becomes a gooner.
