Sagna has 'Deep Arsenal Desire'

When it was reported a few weeks ago that Arsenal were after French left back Bakari Sagna most Arsenal fans dismissed it as media trash.

But it would seem that Arsenal interest is in fact genuine after the player revealed that he wanted to play for Arsenal.

Now, just days after Sagna's revelation, his employers have relvealed that he has a deep desire to play for Arsenal.

The reported £6Million fee seems steep for a player who was reported to be a right back. Espically considering that the right back posistion is filled by Eboue and Hoyte, with Gallas, Toure and Djourou all comfortable there. But Sagna can in fact play anywhere along the back line, making him an ideal sqaud player, albeit a fairly expensive one.

Auxerre president Gerard Bourgoin said: 'Sagna has a deep desire to play in England and he genuinely wants to wear the Arsenal shirt.

They seem keen to sign him as well. The conditions for him to leave have not all been met — at least for the time being.'

Arsenal are now reported to be considering upping the bid to around £6.75Million.
