Theo Walcott is all but a Gooner, his agent made a statement this evening that pretty much confirms the transfer.
I'm never one to count my chicken's before they hatch, but after reading Warwick Horton's comments, I think it's a done deal.
Horton said.'Arsene Wenger wants Theo to be introduced into the Arsenal family as soon as possible. There wouldn't be much point for the club to pay a world record transfer fee for a 16-year-old just to loan him straight out.'
With reports this morning telling of Walcott's absence from training with Southampton, the players agent cleared this up also.
'Southampton agreed that Theo didn't need to train and we were just waiting by the phone for the lawyers to confirm the agreement.'
Arsene Wenger also believed a decision would be made in the next 24 hours.
'We are very heavily in the race but nothing is done and, as long as nothing is signed, you cannot talk about it, however, we are hoping to get a decision in the next 24 hours.'
