'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tommy Gun Happy With Young Gunns

Tomaas Rosicky has become the latest player to speak about Arsenal's transfer policy inside a week.

William Gallas slammed Arsenal's failure to bring in a big name signing to replace departed captain Thierry Henry and he has even gone as far as to demand a meeting with manager Arsenal Wenger AND the Arsenal board to resolve his future.

Rosicky though, takes a different view on Arsene Wenger's reluctance to bring in a super-star player to replace Arsenal's record goal scorer.

Eduardo Da Silva is the only forward to have arrived at Arsenal this summer, despite the loss of Thierry Henry, Jeremie Aliadiere and the imminent departure of Jose Antonio Reyes.

Speaking to Arsenal TV Online Rosicky said: 'Of course, I know that Thierry Henry has left the club and that Eduardo has come in.

'Nevertheless, most of the players have remained and it is good news ahead of the new season.

Rosicky went on to explain why he thought keeping the core of last season's team the same was of great benefit to the club.

'In the last season, our young team has been trying to reach the same tune. In the new season, we can move a step higher and profit from the previous one.'

However, Arsenal continue to be linked with big names such as Samuel Eto'o, a player who has long been linked with The Arsenal.

What Tommy seems to be saying is "You can try to improve too much". Good on him but where have I heard that before?

Hoyte to leave, though? :( http://tinyurl.com/36gu7s Signess. :( :(

The January before we signed him, he had spoke over and over again about how he wanted to play for Arsenal. Sure enough we signed him the following summer even though we had offered 3 million pounds less than what Atletico had offered. He also said sometime this year about how playing for Arsenal had rejuvinated his love for football. Tommy is the man!!!

Good on you Tommy. I think we are being a bit harsh on Gallas though. I dont think he suggested he would speak to the Board, though his suggestion that his talks with Wenger would influence him is ludicrous, to say the least.

I agree we are being harsh on Gallas. If you read the transcript on his website it is clear that he hasn't 'slammed' our failure to bring in a big name signing and neither has he 'demanded' a meeting with the board and Wenger. We can expect tabloids to sensationalise such things but there is little reason for us to do it ourselves is there?
Amos.
I wonder how many goals he will score? More than 1
cockeril
He has a terrific shot.

I defintly hear what tommy is saying i also think we will do alright this season coming.

quite a refreshing change to hear this, as opposed to 'we need to buy, buy, buy, big big big names.' The team will grow, Tommy knows that. The thing is, he also knows he's got time on his side for them to grow into the great team we know they will be, but players like billy and thierry are feeling the hands of time tapping them firmly on the shoulders and don't have too long to wait... »»Arsene Knows««

With the exception of a ready made replacement for TH you have a team that can challenge for honours! But then we all knew that!

rosicky is wrong and he's right at the same time. lack of transfer activity means continuity and familiarity, but bringing in new players acn freshen up a squad, and create competition for places. so this season we will see if the policy has paid off or not.
