Edelman Awaiting Arsene Decision

In an interview with Arsenal.com, Arsenal MD Keith Edelman dropped a massive hint that Arsene Wenger has already been offered a new contract.

Speculation has been rife regarding Wenger's future since, well, forever! But as the end of his contract draws closer, speculation continues to build that he will walk out on the club next summer, taking some of Arsenal's biggest stars with him.

However, over the last few weeks several players, including Kolo Toure and Gilberto Silva have stated their confidence that their manager and mentor will remain at the club beyond next summer.

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood also declared that he is confident he will keep his prize asset.

But the most promising comments came yesterday when Edelman declared that the Arsenal board are awaiting a decision from Wenger.

Keith was asked 'What is the situation with Arsene Wenger?'

To which he replied: 'I think we’re quietly confident that Arsène will remain the manager for a few years to come.

'We’re in constant contact with Arsène and we are awaiting his decision. Hopefully he will inform us that he is going to stay.

'He’s got a great squad, great facilities and we hope he’ll be here for very many more years to come.

'He’s brought some great football to this Club and a lot of honours as well, but we’d like some more under him.'

Or there is of course the possibility that I'm reading too much into this and they have just asked him what his intentions are after this coming season.

More and more re-assuring statements coming out, with the focus turning to on the field events. Bodes well for the club's prospects for the season.
