Wenger won't blame Jens (AUDIO)

Arsenal dropped two points at Ewood Park as goalkeeper Jens Lehmann couldn't shake off the demons of his previous Premier League outing. After scuffing a clearance last week against Fulham which gifted the Cottagers' a lead, the German number 1 allowed a tame David Dunn effort from long range to slip through his hands and hand Blackburn a share of the points.

Robin Van Persie had given Arsenal a scrappy lead in the first half, but manager Arsene Wenger doesn't want to blame his keeper.

Of course Wenger won't blame him to the filthy baying media he has too much class to publicly blame his own players (unlike Jabba the Jol who'd blame his own mum to save his skin) but expect to see Manuel between the sticks v Citeh.

agreed niko, Wenger has to much class to say, 'Jens is a nob' to the media. But secretly I think he is furious with him, like we all are at the moment and although he will naturally talk to him, I think we may see Almunia starting next weekend.

I think we will defiantely see the spainard on weds in the CL. To give Jens some time to clam down. But I just cant see AW benching Lehamnn. Though I think he should.

Blackburn are a f%ckin' awful side and if they are proud of a thuggish performance like that then that sums them up. They'll get nowhere in Europe playing like that cos you can only get away with it in the PL. Despite the mistake and dropping of points, I definitely sense something different in our team, the desire to want to be up for the fight but also not retaliate and play our football. Can't wait til Diaby and Gilberto are back but bad news about Gallas.

***** off Hughes and his team but how long is Gallas going to be out for??

Wenger said in his interview that Gallas could be out for 2-3 weeks with a groin injury. What did everyone think of Walcott's performance? I thought he made an improvement from previous performances.

one thing else that RVP should really control his temper every time he was chasing a black burn player I was scared that he wont do a stupid foul, and I am sure other teams will notice this weakness and they will try to rise his temper, he should be calm and cool

For me Walcott was ok. He should of put us 2-0 up but he screwed up his simple backpass to RVP. Senderos with Toure will be a good partnership.

If Gallas is out for 3 weeks he misses the home games against Man City and Portsmouth and the CL game against Prague. Unless we get more injuries the damage should be pretty limited.

Gooner_Vin" What a silly thing to say, every news report going states Blackburn deserved their point, because they played good football and were the better team in the 2nd half.. Move on and stop being childish. Football is a mans game. Or at least it should be.

I definetly hope Jens doesn't even make the bench for the City game, Almunia will be fine between the sticks but I want to see Fabinaski in action, heck I even want to see Vito on the bench as well. If Gallas is out for 3 weeks then we're real short in the CB position, Arsene should not have let Johan and Kerrea go on loan, both would have fitted nicely in the CB position. But is Toure going to be captian for the time being? Finally, Mikey if you don't want 1X vital Arsenal members biting your ass off in the next 24 hours then shut up! If it had not been for Jen's howler we would have won it. Your only chance of goal was hitting the post. Bunch of thugs, why don't you do that to Chelsea or ManUre!!! Hoji De Puta...

Jens is starting to cost us points, and its worrying now - 2 games in a row. Obviously Wenger will not come out and say it, but I hope he gives Jens a dressing down. 3 pts away at Ewood Park in a tough game would have been such a morale boost.

MickeyGamst - I wasn't questioning whether Blackburn merited a draw, merely their thuggish behaviour. I know from playing football myself at my low level that when up against better players and teams, you have to fight like hell, but there is a fine line between that and being violent. I don't see you condoning Robbie Savage's pathetic attempt to win a penalty. Had that been an Arsenal player, especially a foreigner, no doubt everyone would've been up in arms. Savage should've been sent off. Even Gamst has a nasty side to his game (fouling Eboue last year and stamping on van Persie yesterday). I look forward to seeing you knocked out of Europe with relish by sides that play football.

I watched the game live on my PC (sopcast streamed it live for free from Star Sports in Hong Kong with English commentary) so I had that on whilst watching the Scousers/Chav game on TV. My own two-pence worth. I thought the boys did brilliantly against an overly physical Blackburn side. Even Hughes after the game admitted that their aim was to stop Fabragas and co playing football. We did well to score the scrappy goal and we were looking good for a second "ugly" win on the trot. Then came Jen's howler - which just made me feel sick. It was so pathetically bad that I really can't watch it again in the replays. I agree with what others have said before, Arsene would never blame Jens in public, but this is now two howlers in two games which has cost us 2 points today, and could have done so against Fulham. Does he lose focus? Only he can answer that, but Premierships are won with world-class goalies (Seaman, Schmeichal Snr, Cech etc). Lehman is reminding me now of David James in his England days, great at times, but now prone to increasing mistakes. Wenger and the boys would have been furious and I know Jens will be too but 2 in 2 is too much and Arsene needs to make a decision. Reaction to other games: Scousers were robbed but it was a good result for us, City were fantastic and I've never clapped Sven before!, Spuds were incredibly lucky to come up against an insepid Derby side when they did but to be fair put them to the sword - I just hope their fans realise the quality of the opposition and don't start harking on about how the renaissance will now happen.... Have a good week all.

Wenger dropped Lehmann before, Almunia deputised, and when Jens came back, he was a different keeper. I think he might do it again. For keepers, confidence is as important as it is for strikers. Let him recover in peace...

mickeygamst, for the record, I wholeheartedly support Gooner_Vins view, and also share his 'childish' view in hoping you get dumped out of Europe. Not because you gave us a few nasty kicks - we can live with that - but because you intentionally came out to play a dirty game verging on violence, and you can't walk away from that with your 'manly' "its a man's game" tripe.
