Wenger: We Will Fight Like Mad

Arsene Wenger has issued a battle cry to all connected with the club, in what has been his worst season since his arrival, Le Boss vowed to get a Champions League place or die trying.

In the space of just a few days, Wenger saw his boys go crashing out of two competitions, in matches that we had done more than enough to win, it's all very disapointing, but we will fight on.

“We are very disappointed because we had a very difficult week,” said Wenger. “We got two knocks in four days - one on Tuesday, one on Saturday.

“It is frustrating to go out of the Carling Cup and the FA Cup in the last minute in matches but you could not say we had especially bad games. We had room enough to win it both times.

“Still I feel there are a lot of positives. The young boys showed they have character, spirit and quality. We must continue like that.

“We will fight like mad for this [Champions League] place. But at the moment we have to focus on the priorities — coming back in the Premiership for a decent position.

“And we must be inspired by the type of spirit we have seen.”
