Campbell 'Rested' For Brum Trip

Arsenal's defensive worries deepend today, after Arsene Wenger revealed Sol Campbell will be rested on Saturday.

Big Sol was at fault for two of the goals in the 3-2 defeat at the hands of West Ham yesterday, something which hit him very hard indeed.

Wenger revealed he subbed Campbell at halftime because he was not in a good mental state, Campbell then showered, changed and left Highbury while the team took the pitch for the second half.

“Sol Campbell won’t play. I don’t think Gilbert will be ready so there is not a lot of choose from,” said Wenger in an exclusive video interview with Arsenal TV Online.

“We don’t have any defenders coming back and the Ivory Coast play on Saturday.

“I don’t know what I’ll do about it at the moment, I must think. Do I put Gilberto there or keep Flamini at the back, I don’t know.

“However Adebayor could be involved and I may rest some players who have been involved in two hard games recently.”
