Diaby Is Getting Better And Better

Since his arrival in the January transfer window, Abou Diaby has been heaped with praise from all angles, now, Arsene Wenger has joined in.

As much as I hate comparing players to one another, Diaby is the spitting image of a 19 year old Patrick Vieira, but possibly, with more skill.

'Diaby was excellent,' said Wenger. 'He is getting better and better and he really has all the kinds of qualities you need in the game.

'He is strong, he is good on the ball, he has a great engine for 90 minutes and he is good in the air as well. In every game it looks like he is getting stronger.'

'I am very surprised by how quickly he has adapted because it usually takes a long time,' said the manager. 'Some players take six months to a year.

'He had only played five games in the French league before he came over here but straight away from game to game he grows, and he is only 19 years old.

'I always say you are a good player when you've had 150 Premiership games. He has played three. Each has been better than the last, but give him time. Don't put too much pressure on him.'

Diaby, for me, is first choice in central midfield, he brings to the side, everything we've been missing this season.

I heard somone say he is 'vieira with skill' before we signed him! I have to agree that he does seem VERY impressing when he plays!

when i look at diaby i can see a young patrick in him, the way he controls the ball, the way he gets stuck in and the way he seems to glide across the surface, if he becomes anywhere near the player vieira did then we are in for a great next few years

Well said, he can go through players as well as going round them, looks comfotable on the ball too.
