'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Hits Just Keep On Comin'

The worst season for defensive injuries in memory was deepened today, with the news that Sol Campbell has been ruled out of the clash with Bolton.

A turbulent week in the life of Sol Campbell was topped off with the news he will be out for two to three weeks with an ankle injury.

Speaking with Arsenal TV Online, Arsene Wenger spoke of our injury crisis.

“You will laugh, Sol has come back but he is out now because of a foot problem. He played two or three weeks with it but the injury became worse against West Ham.

“We had a scan and he will be out for two or three weeks. He cannot kick the ball at the moment. It is an ankle injury but not a ligament problem. It is bone bruising.'

Doesn't this injury seem a bit, er, convenient?

It may be imagination, but these overpaid softies never seem to run off injuries nowdays. In the past, the stars were playing on ice, snow, flooded pitches & with a big leather ball +laces. I know because thats what i used. Head that ball mate and you had a 50% chance of heading the lace and going home with a nasty cut or bruise. We also had leather studs and cast iron boots, so running was fun! Now I watch and see these pansies play in slippers. They cant stand up for five minutes. They cry like babes. They roll around when touched, and cheat non stop. Is it any wonder that most of the divers come from overseas, and isnt it time their contracts state that they only get paid a fraction of their weekly wage when they are ' injured' (unless an impartial doctor confirms its genuine )? Our wonderful club, would benefit a lot if players like Freddy & Reyes were fined a fiver for every time they hit the turf for no reason. Back to Sol....its about time he toughened up and accepted that he has only 3/4 years left to play, so get on with it. Finally....where is Ashley Cole? was his comback just for Madrids benefit? Why have we not heard about his return ? Are we going to get Baptista in part exchange..I bloody hope not!

The latest news is that Sol Campbell has sent a come and get me plea to Alan Curbishley at Charlton, this was after hearing that the scorers against L'pool were Young and Bent! lol"

Rugby players take far more hits and seem to get less injuries. Look at George Best in his prime - people kicked chunks out of him, he stayed on his feet and didn't get many real injuries.
NeilBaker
His bottom must be sore........lol
BigYid
yid, is there any point in this? do you think your funny? YOUR NOT!!! I know neil, I think its because of the emphisis on fitness nowadays means they have to train in different ways and that puts morepressure on their bodies
