| Even though these kind of games don't seem that big on paper they're getting more and more important the more time passes. We simply have to win these home games vs teams from the lower half of the table if we want to be playing in the CL next year.
Fortunately I think we will win this one. 3-0. |

| Our defensive midfield options appear to be diminishing with each game with Wenger being forced to admit we have a problem. Diaby(tired and rusty) Arteta (Injured) Coquelin (Thigh strain). Looks like its Frimpong then. What were the chances, eh? |

| The Coq is out?
Great.
I've always been impressed with him when he's played. He's done well the past couple of games too.

| Hamstring according to Arsenal.com. And Diaby has to be 'checked'. I agree about Coquelin. He always seems to be just building up a head of steam and then gets injured. I would put a tenner on Chamakh scoring a hatrick against us. |

If Chamakh scores a hat-trick against us I will quit football!
Mostly because he's not allowed to play against us, but also because if that fucker ever scored a hat-trick it would signal the end of the world. |

Pascal Cygan Posts: 26 | Chamakh cannot play against us; but he almost got a hat-trick against Reading you know :-)
The real problem for this game is the lift (increased competition) that West Ham may get from their new signings and the possibility Diame will want to show us "what we could be missing" by having a sizzling game. Otherwise, any 11 Arsenal puts out should take all 3 points at the Em*rates and this is my expectation. One of those games that may either be tight or have a huge scoreline if we start scoring early. Hopefully, it is the latter. |

Pascal Cygan Posts: 26 | If we are truly interested in Moh'd Diame, why not do the business quickly instead of allowing him play against us? Considering the players who could face us (that weren't WHU players in the reverse fixture), I would rather the boxing day fixture happened; the rest that postponement afforded us has made little difference to our fortunes since then, in any case. We may have to do some rotation and it will be interesting to see who we rest and who comes in, but we can't afford wholesale changes. We've got to be up for this game. |

| Knowing that odious c*nt Fat Sam there'd be no way he'd allow either a) Diame to leave before he faced us, or b) would want it written into any deal that Diame wouldn't be allow to play against them in the first macth or some ridiculous shit like that. |

On Villa's behalf it was quite disgraceful that being 5 goals up with more than half an hour left to play that we didn't score at least 3 more. There's no fighting spirit and Wenger has obviously failed to coach them to play more than an hour. We're a small club in a big stadium and Villa has been telling you this for years. All our best players are leaving - apart from Wilshere - and Walcott - Gibbs - Arteta - Szczesny ....and some others. What have we signed to replace those that have left apart from a couple of German internationals with a couple of hundred caps between them and a spanish midfielder that occasionally gets into a Spanish teams weak midfield? As for Giroud what's the point of signing a striker who can only manage 11 goals in 19 starts! We're doomed I tell you (on Villa's behalf )! |

Hehe!
I'm not under any illusion that we're in a good state right now, but credit has to be given to the boys when it's due. That's my big problem with Villa. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but when he's never around to comment on the good things about the team then it leads me to believe the only enjoyment he gets from Arsenal is whinging about it or winning a trophy .... and that's not really a proper football fan in my eyes.
As you rightly pointed out Amos, yes, we've struggled to keep players happy and susstain any sort of form, but we've a good core of players and the core are all pretty much tied down for at least the next 3 years.
It always makes me smile to see our three top summer signings score in the same game ... which has happened a few times now. |
