Arsenal vs. West Brom

The Hawthorns

West Brom v Arsenal

Arsenal travel to The Hawthawns tomorrow to take on the in-form West Brom in The carling Cup 3rd round.

West Brom currently sit third in the Championship with the second best goal difference in the league, second only to Cardiff. New Boss Tony Mowbray got them off to a flying start with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Wolves at the weekend.

Arsenal aren't doing too badly either with five wins on the bounce in the league, in which time the goal has been breached only once, Darren Bent was the guilty man on that occasion. If it hadn't been for some poor refereeing I would be saying it was 7 wins on the bounce in all competitions. I'm not going to rant though.

Arsenal fans could well see Philippe Senderos, Gael Clichy and Mathieu Flamini make their return from injury. Wenger has already confirmed that Brazillian starlet Denlison will start the game. Expect him to be partnered by Flamini in the middle.

Theo Walcott and Emanuel Adebayor are expected to start up front for Arsenal which suggests that we will be playing a 4-4-2

Cesc Fabregas, Kolo Toure, Tomas Rosicky, Alex Hleb and Robin Van Persie are all in the squad and 3 of them could make the bench.

The full squad is as follows: Almunia, Poom, Hoyte, Djourou, Senderos, Clichy, Flamini, Song, Denilson, Walcott, Aliadiere, Adebayor, Toure, Fabregas, Rosicky, Hleb, Van Persie.

Arsene Says........

on how he will celebrate his birthday...

'As an aperitif, a little game on television. After, as a dessert, all the goals in Europe on television again!'

Arsenal Team News:

Wenger will field a stronger than usual squad in this competition with the full line up in Simmo's match preview.

Player to watch: Theo Walcott

Should the little speed merchant start the game he'll look to impress both domestic and national coaches in the hope of more regular first team football. The boy is like Billy Whizz on speed.

West Brom Team News:

They have players and they will try to score.

Player to watch: Kanu

Oh wait, he's moved hasn't he. Ok then, that geezer who scores all the goals.

Rocky, I will wet myself if you guys don't win by at least 6 goals! After all, you guys are the "caviar" of the Premiership, and the best footballing club in the PL. I would just like to draw your attention, and that of your English teacher colleague of yours, that real caviar is endangered and doesn't win many titles, at least not in England. Finally "felicitations" to Arsene, who will sit home and watch TV, now just how boring is that? At least Jose gets out once in a while!

Come on West1, I know fine well you are a knowledgable football supporter and not some numpty who believes any team in the top flight can beat any lower league team by 6 goals, it just doesnt work that way. Indeed it is possible that we may lose tomorrow, football works like that. We will have a stroner team than usual (in this comp) that is true, but not our strongest, also getting motivated for a midweek trip to the Midlands in the Carling Cup is not very easy to get motivated for. As for Arsene sitting in and watching football all the time, this is one of the reason why we consistantly find young talent and turn them into the best footballers in the world, while Mourinho has to spend 70 million quid every summer. Small price to pay.

Well said Rocky7. BTW have you seen this http://tinyurl.com/y69a7v. I reckon the latest one whenever updated on either Google or Live.com would be a treat to see.

jose does get out once in a while, to make adverts and promo's and well, everything it seems except scouting the best young talent for his club! I know who i would want as a manager of Arsenal and it wouldn't be a greasy, know it all, i can do no wrong shyster like MaureenHo!
