Arsenal vs. Portsmouth

Highbury

Wednesday 28th December

7:45pm

Arsenal v Portsmouth

Arsene Wenger will be looking to build on the cracking victory ground out by his Highbury heroes at the Valley on Boxing day.

Plenty of positives came from that game, not least being a goal from Jose Antonio Reyes, which should really boost his confidence and prompt him to climb to bigger and better things this season.

The passing look more acurate, the movement was sharper and the overall attitude of the team was so much more visible that tonight's game should make for another great contest.

The Portsmouth match always has high entertainment value and is never short of an incident or two. With Harry Redknapp back at the helm, the boys in blue will be fired up once again.

Vital Quotes:

'We have to take the game to them and score goals, so it will be interesting. But it certainly will not be a physical battle.

Arsenal Team News:

Dennis Bergkamp will be back for the Gunners tonight and Robin van Persie has failed to pass a fitness test.

Bergy and Pires will both start the game.

Player to watch: Jose Antonio Reyes

The little Spaniard has put in so much hard work this season and has grafted harder than any other player, he deserved his goal on Boxing day and will add to that tonight.

Portsmouth Team News:

Very noisy fans.

Player to watch: Lua Lua

Fast with quick feet, he'll probably play a lot of his football down the left if Cygan starts in the full back position.
