Slavia Prague V Arsenal

Arsenal will look to cement their place in the final 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday when they make their second trip to Prague this season.

It'll be a much changed side from the one that has faced Liverpool and Manchester United in the last two weekends.

With four big names left in London, it'll be interesting to see if Wenger decides to play Manu Adebayor up front, or if he decides to give a chance to Walcott and Eduardo.

Both players will want to play, as will Bendtner. Walcott will want to build on his brace against the Czech's in London. Eduardo and Bendtner on the other hand, have both expressed a desire to get a chance in the first team.

Slavia warmed up for the game with a 1-0 league victory over third placed Teplice.

Arsenal, as I'm sure you're all aware, drew with Manchester United at the weekend to stay top of the League.

That draw with Manchester United set a new club record of 25 games without defeat for Arsenal, spanning back to last season.

Vital Quotes:

Arsene Wenger urged his players to show commitment and focus when they visit Prague: 'I felt the 7-0 win against Slavia Prague was a really complete performance at some points.

'Particularly in the latter stages of the game when the goals came on the floor, and each goal would be bigger, quicker and of a better quality than the last.

'When we meet Slavia again on Wednesday, they will be full of desire for revenge. We will go into the game with top focus and commitment.

'We want to qualify for the last 16 in that game, we have a good opportunity and we don't want to neglect that.'

Former Arsenal player Oleg Luzhny will take charge of Slavia Prague after manager József Szabó was taken will with a heart problem. A club statement read: 'Szabó is temporarily unable to work due to ischemic heart disease, so his assistant Luzhny will prepare the team for the forthcoming UEFA Champions League and Ukrainian league matches.'

Slavia Prague Team News:

Ladislav Volesak will be missing for Slavia through suspension. The midfielder has been in fine form this season, and scored Slavia's only goal at the weekend.

Player to watch: Marek Suchy

Young, strong, athletic and talented. No, I'm not talking about one of Arsene Wenger's talented youngsters, I'm talking about Marek Suchy.

The 19-year-old Czech defender has emerged as one of the most promising defenders in Europe over the last year. He helped take the Czech under-20 side to the world cup final in the summer.

He had a trail at Tottenham earlier in the year and has reportedly been subject to interest from both Chelsea and Real Madrid.

After the drumming he recieved on matchday 3, he'll want to do all he can to shut Arsenal out on Wednesday.

Arsenal Team News:

Arsenal will travel without four injured players. Kolo Toure (calf) and Tomas Rosicky (groin) join Van Persie (knee) and Phill Senderos (back) on the injury list.

Meanwhile, midfield tormentors Alex Hleb and cesc fabregas have both been rested after their excellent start to the season.

Player to watch: Denilson

The 19-year-old midfielder is largly unkown in Europe, and I don't think Prague will realise just how good he is. If he's given time and space he'll punish them with his range of passing and shooting ability.

Arsene announced the squad that will travel: Jens Lehmann
Abou Diaby
Bacary Sagna
Lassana Diarra
William Gallas
Mathieu Flamini
Alex Song
Gael Clichy
Manuel Almunia
Emmanuel Adebayor
Nicklas Bendtner
Emmanuel Eboue
Armand Traore
Justin Hoyte
Theo Walcott

Match Prediction:

It'll be a tough, physical game, but Arsenal will still come away with more than the point we need to qualify. 3-0 Arsenal. Denilson, Eduardo and Diaby with the goals.

Good to have you back, simmo. Trust everything is ok now. The prediction seems a little aggressive though. I doubt it will be 3-0. It will be interesting to see who starts. I think Wenger will start with Denilson and Gilberto in mid-field, and I hope he starts with Bendtner and Dudu upfront.

Rosicky is injured again? If this keeps up, Wenger will need to find a new LM. Diaby shouldn't be the one to replace him since he's not really suited in that position.

Rosicky is very injury prone, who would you like to get in LM if you could have anyone ?

A certain 30 year old Frenchman is currently being groomed by Barca for LM..... apparently he's quick, good technique but might not fit in personality wise. Seriously though, it's not a problem - Carlos Vela is joining us in January now he's a Spanish citizen. Despite the fact he's 18, he's Mexico's first choice LM and also plays there for Osasuna. I'd rather we spend money on a new goalie and CB than a LM.

Let's hope Theo tracks back defensively if he plays on the right, unlike for Evra's run against Man Utd on Saturday - or am I wrong in partly blaming him for that goal?

Good on Le Boss, he's rested basically our entire first team. Almunia, Diarra, Gallas, Song, Clichy, Walcott, Gilberto, Denilson, Diaby, Eduardo & Bendtner. If that side was good enough to get through the Carling Cup final last year - then it's good enough to play a team we spanked 7-0. I can see 2-0 or 3-0.

Gibbs should be given a run on the left wing when Rosicky is injured. He hasn't looked out of place at all on the couple of occasions he has started (Wasn't it him who was brilliant against Inter Milan pre season?). Anyway, its pointless making signings when the there are excellent youngsters that deserve a chance first!!

Another diabolical display last night from your 12m flop. Walnut does nothing the whole game yet it is Bendtner and Eduardo who get subbed - it really shows how desperate Wenger is to have an english player in his team. I seem to remember an article by LD during the summer on here which stated the value of Abou Diaby.....well arsebandits this guy is not the second coming of patrick vieira he is a useless big donkey who is way too dumb and lazy to play central midfield and far too greedy to play left wing....he'll be on the scrap heap at the end of the year and join the ever growing list of wenger flops.

***** off sport you whiny little****, all you do is spout vitriol throught the poisoned mouth of a twisited little spud. Your comments are pointless considering we have qualified for the champions league during a difficult away game where we got hacked to pieces. Diaby was immense the whole game. In fact this "scrap heap" of flops would replace your entire first team and do a better ******** job you arrogant *****er.

It seems spuds are so desperate to have english players in their team that they will even resort to have the laughing stock Robinson in goal!! Diaby displayed more skill & flair in the first 10 minutes of that game last night than spuds have done all season!!

Ere Bitc - Barring injuries you had your first choice team out the other night, and you lot have been crying about the abmymal performance, where as we made 8 changes to the team that drew with Man Utd (A team you have already lost to) and qualified for the next round of the CL.It's funny to see that you were here not so long ago harping on about your beautiful football.....well that lasted all of two games, you see, to play awesome footy over a susstained period takes an awesome football team, where as to play crap football and win a couple of trophies just take spending more money than you actually have!!! Joke of a club..........which is probably a good team for you to support considering!!! ;)
