The first North London Derby of the season is upon us, as Harry Redknapp brings last place Tottenham to the Emirates Stadium to face the Arsenal. Everyone involved with both clubs knows the passion, drama, and importance these games mean on and off the pitch, and as with every derby this one has its own special storyline. The Ramos Revolution is well and truly over with at White Hart Lane, and Spurs have brought in a manager that will surely have his players fired up, ready to fight till the very end to avoid another loss in the 08/09 edition of the Barclay's Premier League.

Arsene Wenger wants to see his squad just play their game in this fixture. 'I believe what is important tomorrow is how well Arsenal will play and not who sits on the bench at Tottenham.
'We have put a run together and that has strengthened our belief.
'We want now to go from strength to strength - we have come back to an interesting position in the league and we are highly convinced that it will be down to our strengths tomorrow more than anything else.'
The Frenchman is also not focusing at all on Harry. 'I believe if there is one game that is a bit special, it is Tottenham versus Arsenal so I don't think that will change a lot,' he explained.

Adebayor has taken pity on Spurs. "I think every player feels sorry for them," Adebayor told talkSPORT Magazine.
"They have a strong team, good players and I'm sure that in a few months they'll be back winning games. At the moment they lack confidence and when you lack confidence it's always difficult to win games. But at the moment Tottenham are really bad."
Redknapp will be hoping that his team will be able to ride the momentum of their first win of the season on Sunday against Bolton. 'Going to the Emirates Stadium is always difficult and there will be a great atmosphere.
'But I was impressed with how we played on Sunday [when Spurs beat Bolton 2-0].
'I was also impressed with the players in training who weren't even playing and if we can show our quality we will quickly move up the table.'
Arsenal Team News:
Denilson will return to the squad, but after Song's great preformance against West Ham, Denny's starting place is in some major doubt. Wenger confirmed in his own sneaky, clever way that he will have his first choice defense back for this game, as both Sagna and Kolo have recovered from their respective injuries.

Player to watch: Emmanuel Adebayor
Adebayor has relished in the Pires like role of always being a thorn in Tottenham's side. The Togolese international has a gifted knack of scoring against Spurs. Since his transfer to Arsenal in January of 2006, he has scored a grand total of 7 goals against Arsenal's North London rivals. Add that to the massive confidence boost he received over the weekend, will no doubt see him cause all sorts of problems for Spurs.
Tottenham Team News:
Both of Spurs first choice centre backs are doubtful for this game. King has already played 2 games in a row so a visit to the treatment room is on the cards, and Woodgate is still struggling with a groin injury. Their next option at centre back is also out, because Micheal Dawson will still be suspended for his red card against Stoke. Though Gareth Bale will return to the squad.
Player to watch: Luka Modric
The young Croatian played his first good game for Spurs against Bolton, and he will hoping that he can continue his good form against Arsenal. There's no doubt that when he plays for Croatia the quality is there, but since his move to White Hart Lane, he has yet to show it on a consistent basis. I suspect Song will be looking to mark the diminutive midfielder out of the contest.

123 It's much more than the media, the spuds fan sides are full of statements about spuds coming glory and of Arsenals fall from the top 4 every summer, as for lack of tropies for the last 3 years we have gone throug a barren spell after wenger took over before and came back to win another double and I can see no reason why that can not happen again, just last year we where 3 and only 4 points behind the camps. Not to mention that we have had the additional burden of financing a new statium, I'm sure if you look into the spending of the two clubs for the last three years Arsenal spent much less and finished much higher than spuds every year.

I'd say that the worst thing to appen to spuds was levi. At the time Wenger arrived you where not so far behind Arsenal but have stagnated and gone backwards in the last decade, as for the missing pice at Arsenal is a bit of luck, our indjuris last season where bad and we simply dont have the financial muscle at this time to have a bigger and better paid squad, rociky rvp eduardo all long term injuries last season with denilson diaby gallas etch etch out for shorter periods, when playing at the top you need your top players for the whole season or same quality replacements.

If this was an away fixture for us, the Redknapp/new manager factor would have worried me more. This will be a very tough fixture for Redknapp and Spurs, I can see us really playing football on a different level. Redknapp's tactics are going to be really interesting. And although the win against Bolton would have given them a lift, there will always be some self-doubt among the Tottenham players.

As long as we play football we'll be ok. Wenger needs to play two up front imo, we need to put as much pressure as we can on their defence. Fast paced, high tempo, wave after wave of attacks, we need to batter them from start to finish and with urgencey, if we can keep our discipline we can reverse the hammering we took last time, I'm sure of it, but if we're tentative, then god only knows whay will happen.

I would take a draw now and I think every sensible spurs fan would do the same, in our situation points are way above local rivalry. As a team we are still very fragile of confidence and if you score an early goal I think it could be a comfortable night for you, but the longer we keep a clean sheet our self belief will increase, but I think if you guys are on your game I think you will get the points..

IF Ledders and Woody come thru and have a game like they did against Chelsea we could get that draw that I am hopin for. Arsenal are an exceptional squad on there day, But if Brice is right and Gallas is playing then that may work for us. Goin for a 1-1 draw Adebayor for Arsenal (simply coz he has to score against spurs) and Gallas OG for spurs (coz at the moment we cant score for peanuts)

Seriously, I kept thinking we got 6 points against them last year so I didn't remember the last NLD was actually the 5-1 thing. That's how much/little it meant/means to me. I think most Arsenal fans might secretly take that draw Ox, because make no mistake about it, despite our fantastic record in NLD's in recent history, they make us nervous every bit as much as they do you. Okay maybe I over reacted at first in anger, but I still do not like the 3 defensive substitutions. That is not Arsenal, we attack till the end. We would of kept the ball in the last few minutes had there been another option for Cesc instead of only Ade. I am convinced that it was a mistake to make 3 defensive subs. Its easy to say that now I know, but I said also said the same thing when he took van Persie off. Don't get me wrong, the players are to blame here very much so, but I think that Arsene could of kept up the pressure till the end. Robin had a blinder, and its all for nothing.

GK I wouldn't blame Arsene as much as the subs themselves. 95% of the teams would bring on defensive/strong players to protect the lead. It's the subs' and the defence's mentality towards the end that disappointed us. Of course with hindsight, we should have kept RvP and/or Theo to keep the ball and the pressure. But those subs were supposed to come on and do a job - and the team as a whole were supposed to hang on to the lead - just for a few mins ffs. They showed improvements in the game until it's 4-2, then our defence started looking like Spurs'!

Too many silly mistakes. We don't have a strong enough mentality. This was only Tottenham, scoring 4 goals against us, God knows what's gonna happen when we play the top 3. I'm afraid LD is right; we're like a basketball team and he predicted we would concede 4 against the top sides like Pool, Chavs and Man Utd. We've only gone and done it against Spuds.

Derbies are always about who wants it more. I have to put my hand up and say that Spurs just did what they had to do (for a team in the relegation zone), to fight hard till the very end. The NLD + new manager syndrome + 'Arry's motivation & tactics + relegation dogfight factors got them that spirit. We capitalised on their defensive errors and, sadly, vice versa. But it's clear that it's not a quality issue, but a mentality one. It made me feel that the Fenerbahce game made them think that it's ok to concede as long as we could score a lot of goals. Our defence was treating Spurs like Fenerbahce towards the end, which was completely wrong. I don't know how many wake-up calls we need. But I have more hopes in the cups than the league if I'm honest.
