Wigan 1 - Arsenal 0

JJB

7pm

Attendance: Not Very Many

50p For The Meter Anyone??

This game was so dull (for Gooners anyway) that the brightest thing in the match was the floodlights........at least till they went out on 54 minutes.

Aside from Freddie Ljungberg blazing over in the 8th minute, there was no real Arsenal threat.

The only goal of the game was scored by a Gooner, unfortunately, this Gooner was Wigan debutant Paul Scharner, rising up at the back post to power his header home.

Star Player

Wigan's Jimmy Bullard - Ran the game from start to finish.

Player Ratings

Not much point in the rest of the match report as this was the dullest match in history.

Well done to Wigan who really out played the Arsenal and will push us to the limit when the come to Highbury.
