The young midfield were unable to dominate possession in the manner expected of Arsenal but it improved as the home team tired. Territorial advantage was fairly even FC Twente 49.3% and Arsenal 50.7%. FC Twente got in as many tackles 23 but more successfully at 87% with Arsenal managing 22 but only 77.3% - perhaps reflecting the home sides greater physical maturity. Arsenal just shaded passing success at 86.9% with FC Twente 85.1%

Sorry to beat a dying drum here Amos but you know how the other day you posted an article about atmosphere and how I was saying that what constitutes atmosphere in British stadiums doesn't really in most of the rest of the world. Well the Twente fans last night were a fine example of what I was talking about. They were excellent throughout, constantly singing and only got better as things started to look more and more hopeless for them.

That's true Ozi. You couldn't fail to notice it. Then again it was their first ever game in the CL. A day out at a different venue and against a big club with a gate more than 50% up on their average. Are they like that at home to Heracles? It's still the event that creates the atmosphere.
Amos.
We've always agreed on the fact that crowds will enivitably be louder the bigger the game, but it just the general unrelenting singing that contributes more to the 'European' style atmosphere. And regardless of wether as many people would've been singing were they playing ADO Den Haag, the ones who were still would've been doing it just as consistently.

Sorry to go totally off subject here. Im a Boro fan and wondered if any of the editors/co-eds could answer me some questions on Justin Hoye as we have just had our bid accepted for him. It would be in an interview type style. If you can then could you please email me on stephenmarron17@hotmail.co.uk. Cheers.

Good result should put you through.

Well, we are going to have to improve, we could have been 2 nil down in the 1st half. And it was really only due to Twente getting tried that we were able to score our two goals. I hope to see a better performance on Saturday!
