Arsenal dominated territorial advantage at 55.7% perhaps influenced by an increasingly desperate last 20 minutes trying to equalise. At first sight Cesc stats seem to show fewer passes (58)and less accuracy (76%) than Denilson (62 @ 92%) but 86% of Cesc's passes were forward zone passes compared to 61% of Denilsons, suggesting that Cesc was playing a more advanced role and more ambitious with his passing.

Hey Amos, do the stats tell us anything about the team's passing overall? I felt that we gave away the ball on quite a few occasions and didn't show our normal level of fluency. Not sure if it's just me or our passing was below par?

Kiev used a very similar defensive approach to that of Fulham but we still carved a few chances that we didn't take. AW has to come up with something else in these kind of situations. Denilson was poor again.

Oh, skysports.com says our passing success rate was 86.1%, I'm just a bit surprised..

You need a proper defensive midfielder to comlement fabregas in the midfield. He is too busy for killer passes. There is also no clinical finishing. If VP or Ade scored today you would have saved much energy and form. Now, you have to care about the league and the CL at the same time. P.S.: Dynamo Kiev would cut in a world class diving team!

I felt Song had a better game than Denilson and will be interested to see his stats compared against Denilson. Ade created the best chance of a goal himself but went wide and Cesc may not have realised he had a bit more time to control the ball and shoot from the pass provided by RVP in front of goal just before half time.

Last night's game was very frustrating, i too felt we gave the ball away alot, we should have taken our chance RvP, Ade, and Cesc all had chances to score.

No incisive passing, Adebayor looked lethargic as did most of the side, Walcott took a battering, but a point is better than none.

This result is far from being anything to worry about.. Due to the penalty (very dubious) Kiev had the opportunity to keep plenty of players behind the ball. I think that in open play, Arsenal would have made a lot more of the game but its difficult to keep trying to thread the ball through 7 or 8 defending players. This is just another result born from poor decisions from the officials (nothing new there).
KBGoon
A point away to Kiev is a decent result I reckon.
