There aren't too many games where our passing success rate is lower than the opposition but the Turkish side just shaded it with 82.3% compared to our 80.7%. Individually everyone did ok and everyone was also a bit sloppy at times. The standout individual performance statistically was from Eboue. He saw a lot of the ball with 64% of his 44 passes forward zone and with 91% completion rate. He also managed 1 assist and 3 assist attempts which for a full back is quite impressive and was only bettered by Cesc with 2 assists and 3 attempts . Another standout individual performance was from Capt Almunia who despite the scoreline was the busier keeper in all aspects except for picking the ball out of the net. He was the saviour of a remarkably weak Arsenal central defence. Anyone would think Silvestre and Song had never played together before.

Very un-Arsenal like stats. 5 goals from 6 shots on target (normally we need more shots on target to convert but we were quit clinical today), and only 1 corner !

How often have Sylvestre and Song played together before, once?
Armory
Very unlike Arsenal!! we were clinical, took our chances well and made the Fenerbache defense look like schoolboys! Oh and i think Amos was being sarcastic Armory.

maybe this is the formular we have been missing...give the other team as many chances as possible and when they are not watching score every chance we get...I'll apply for wengers job...i dont remember the last time a team had more goal attempts that would be an interesting stat

very good win for you that......

love the way Arsene is using Van Persie this season by keeping him away from these tough physical games & getting results too. lets be in contention for the league come january with all our big players fit, & have Eduardo n Rosicky back fit, & suddenly our squad won't look thin at all..
luckys_10
& Diaby had a good game too. looks a better player when played in the centre. but still needs to improve his work rate & not look disinterested at times. but for a comeback game, he was impressive..
luckys_10
lol anonymous, our play reminded me of the real madrid team of the late 90's & early 2k. score as many as yu want, & we will outscore yu..

I am begining to see LD's assertion. We are like playing basketball this season.

Wow Eboue's foot work on the edge of the area was just breath taking. I can't believe will only had six shots on target! But more importantly we scored five goals, now that's worth shouting about! Thanks for the stats Amos

I know the game was won by then, but Ramsey looked really comfortable when he came on. First champions league game and he slotted in seamlessly. Sealed it off with a goal too! Horrific defending at times. I know they were thrown together, but I must admit I was expecting more from them.

Lets hope Diaby can keep that up! Had a fantastic game rotating with Denilson and Cesc like he'd never been away, and a very undeserved yellow.
MeetTheGunners
navydave - this was actually Ramsey's 2nd CL game, if you count the first leg against FC Twente.
