Couple of questions for the gooners: 1) why are you persisting in playing Arshavin when you have Oxlade-Chamberlaine; 2) How much do you think you'll get for Chamakh in january?
fifthcolumnblue
Very proud of performanc, compare our fringe players to 2 years ago or even last year we a far better team Chamakh as much as i like him just aint suited to our style of play if anything good comes from tonight i hope Wenger sees that Coquelin MoM well done kid
Van Persie
Hopefully after tonight he get bit more playing time got to remember he still has a lot to learn plus his English so more pressure on him, i dont know about Chamakh tho maybe same as Tevez ??
Van Persie
Good performance and i think even a Man City fan will be hard pressed to say they were the deserved winners. Coquelin and Frimpong looks extremley comfertable in that midfield roll and so very confident. I think Chamakh's getting a lot harder wrap then he deserves. His hold up game is very good and he can play with his back to goal. Chamberlin is going to be special. The only player i wasn't really impressed with and really showed inexperience was Miquel. Apart from that very good to see. Cash City needed there 40mil signing to beat our reserves.

Chamahk 8-10m?

A failure but one with a bit of glory attached. Ultimately that bit more experience and class won the game for them but it could just as easily have gone the other way. Should be able to field the same XI against Olympiakos (another game where the result doesn't really matter) which means the first pick has a relatively uncluttered schedule before the Xmas games.

Citteh fan hear, It could have gone either way TBH. Very happy we got a result.

Proud of the performance by the lads today and the stats bear it out. Aguero's goal was the first shot on target for the blues in the game. The City keeper had a good game and our midfield made one especially proud. Onwards and upwards.
Deltaforce
Very good game for our young lads and apart from Sparky who I thought knew something about football the team that lost were the better team. Really beginning to think AA is not really that interested in playing for us. Cham jury still out he did look ill last night surprised he was not subbed. The comments they made about him were just like the comments they made about several of our players included Ces Song Flem even RVP the boss I feel knows when their time is up. Amos what percentage of a transfer fee does the player get? It seems as though AA is just waiting to leave?

I dont think we should go into the Olympiakos game thinking the result doesnt matter. Thats the attitude that has often screwed up our previous campaigns in Europe. All results matter on one level or another. On the game last night: highly impressed with the 2nd string, with the possible exception of Chamakh who i thought looked laboured and yes, ill. Coquelin looks like he's filled out a bit...much stronger. AOC has far better ball control than Walcott. Theo must be worried.
Wyn Mills
Or perhaps thats why we've seen a recent improvement in Theo's performances. Good competition for places there.
Wyn Mills
Of course we'd prefer to win every game but the Olympiakos game doesn't matter to the extent that we should risk any key players trying to win it. The XI we put out last night still played with effort and pride. A CL game is a good reward as well as an education for some and an incentive for others on the fringe but let's keep our key players for the games that really do matter. I'm not sure whether there is any automatic entitlement to a percentage of the transfer fee - I guess that would be in their contract - though you hear figures of 10% often quoted if they are sold without requesting a transfer. Arshavin's contract runs until June 2013 - realistically though nobody is going to pay too much for a forward who'll be 31 at the end of this season.
Amos.
Very happy with the way we played. I don't think you can over look the fact that they only had one shot on target and that was a goal. Our back four are all CB by trade which meant a very disciplined back line with not much from them going forward. One shot on target and one goal is the sort of thing that happens when you have a player of genuine quality like Aguero. I'd be happy to see most of that team play our final CL match but I would change a few players with Yennaris, Ozyakup & Diaby to feature.

Thanks Amos I thought the same 10% but I wasnt sure not a bad payday if its true. No wonder AA would be happy if it is.
